Franz Liszt
Hi. - I like to think big as you know. Teams that make big splashes in the off season seem to be successful. - I have other options incase something doesn't go as planned - I have listed my draft picks after all the trades are done - This lineup is deep, so don't laugh or ask why whoever is a line lower then usual - This works if the cap hits $70+ million, so i'll just get right to it. TRADES: To TBL: Luongo, Ballard & Alberts To VAN: Connolly, TBL 1st (10th) & PHI 2nd (50th) + Ohlund? Ballard & Alberts help the defensive depth big time, plus the Lighning get their franchise goalie who will ne good for ~6 more years. Vancouver brings Connolly home plus a couple of draft picks. I know you are probably thinking that we have to take a contract back, so if we do, it'll probably be Ohlund (so he can retire here) or Malone, for a later trade. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To PIT: Booth, Malhotra (Limited NTC), Gragnani (RFA) & VAN 2012 1st (26th) To VAN: J. Staal, Engelland & PIT 2nd (52nd) Pittsburgh will have to give Staal a big raise soon, so unloading him for Booth to put on Crosby & Dupuis's line would pay big dividends. Our 1st will help convince them. Gragnani would help their powerplay and depth, also because rumors that Martin or Michalek may be traded. This trade also gives Pittsburgh another 1st round pick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To BUF: Raymond (RFA), Schroeder, Rodin & TBL 2012 1st (10th) To VAN: Stafford, NSH 1st (21st) & BUF 3rd (73rd) After a horrendous season, the Sabres will need a smaller than usual reload. Schroeder & Rodin are both very skilled forwards who will help them for the near future, plus Raymond would immediately help their 2nd/3rd lines and penalty killing. The Sabres forwards like Stafford, Roy & Pominville also become expandable with the emergence of Ennis, Foligno, Gerbe & Tropp, and putting Boyes back into a scoring role. This trade also enables Buffalo to trade from 21st to 10th in the draft which is huge. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To TOR: Tanev, Oreskovich (RFA) & Archibald To VAN: Franson (RFA) & TOR 2nd (35th) Bringing Franson home and sending Tanev & Archibald home. It is a tough pill to swallow to lose Tanev, but having Franson come would help the size, scoring and depth on our blue line. Oreskovich goes to Toronto to help the size in their bottom-6 and AHL affiliate, and Archibald adds size, grit, touchness and some scoring to the Marlies. Also remember, the Leafs traded for Carter Ashton and they have players like Frattin & Colborne. Toronto has a good future, they can afford a draft pick for two players who are closer than just being drafted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VANCOUVER'S DRAFT PICKS AFTER TRADES: Liberace's Picks 21st: Slater Koekkoek - D 35th: Tanner Pearson - LW 50th: Emil Lundberg - LW 52nd: Patrick Sieloff - D 57th: Brian Hart - RW 73rd: Mackenzie MacEachern - C 83rd: Dylan Blujus - D 147th: Taylor Burke - RW 177th: Corbin Boes - G 207th: Tyler Wood - D RE-SIGN: Cory Schneider: 4 years @ $13 million. $3.250 cap hit Sami Salo: 1 year @ $2 million Eddie Läck: 2 years @ $1.8 million. $0.900 cap hit Dale Weise: 1 year @ $700,000 RFA RIGHTS AFTER TRADE: Cody Franson: 2 years @ $2.75 million. $1.375 cap hit SIGN: Zach Parise: 8 years @ $53 million. $6.625 cap hit Jason Garrison: 4 years @ $13.2 million. $3.300 cap hit Bryan Allen: 3 years @ $10.05 million. $3.350 cap hit Kristian Huselius: 2 years @ $6.25 million. $3.125 cap hit Colin Fraser: 2 years @ $1.75 million. $0.875 cap hit LINEUP: With and without Kesler Without Kesler: Sedin Sedin Parise Huselius Staal Stafford Burrows Lapierre Connolly Higgins Fraser Hansen Weise With Kesler: Sedin Sedin Huselius <-- Swedex Line Parise Kesler Stafford <-- Amex Line Burrows Staal Connolly <-- Canex Line Higgins Lapierre Hansen <-- Grindex Line Fraser, Weise Hamhuis Bieksa Edler Garrison Allen Franson Salo, Engelland Schneider & Lack /Backup SPECIAL TEAMS: Power Play PP1 Sedin Sedin Kesler Parise Garrison PP2 Huselius Staal Stafford Edler Bieksa PP3 Higgins Connolly Burrows Hamhuis Franson 5 on 3: PP1 Sedin Sedin Stafford Parise Kesler PP2 Huselius Staal Connolly Edler Garrison SPEACIAL TEAMS: Penalty Kill PK1 Kesler Burrows Hamhuis Edler PK2 Staal Hansen Allen Edler PK3 Lapierre Parise Garrison Franson 3 on 5: PK1 Lapierre Allen Hamhuis PK2 Staal Higgins Edler EMPTY NET: Parise H. Sick Hands
Pretty much every trade is substantially tilted in the Canucks favor, if this is an Nhl 12 proposal than its decent, but in real life. No... Only the Franson trade has any merit, nor would J.Staal come here to play 3rd fiddle. 8/10 for creativity 8.5/10 for presentation and adding draft picks. 3/10 for a plausible scenerio Still a good read though

Mr. White
Well, maybe. But Pittsburgh may also take it, simply because Booth rounds out their top-6. Plus, Jordan Staal will be due for a raise and I don't think the Penguins deep down want to have 3 super high paid centers. Malhotra will help them out defensively at 3rd/4th line center. And Gragnani helps their defensive depth and powerplay. Basically its this: Booth, Malhotra & VAN 1st <---> Staal Gragnani <---> Engelland

RyanKeslord17
I would LOVE to get Jordan Staal. I think he is the piece to our top 6. And Parise Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Parise-Staal-Kesler Higgins-Lapierre-Hansen Pinizotto-Malhotra-Parros( hopefully signed in FA) Don't see the need to get Stafford though. gwarrior
1.we just have to retool, not go mental and trade half the frigging team. 2. the thought of parise comming here is a pipe dream. nothing more. 3. dealing luongo to tampa is probably going to happen, but i dont think its realistic to expect BOTH conolly AND their 1st rounder, itll probably be 1 or the other and a bad contract i.e. malone commin our way.
