Ghostsof1915
Here's some facts. Cory has played 42 games in his last year of college which is roughly 1/2 a hockey season, where he had 29 wins, a 2.15 GAA and .925 save percentage. He played for 3 seasons in Manitoba. 2007-08 - 36 games, 21 wins, 2.28 GAA, and .916 save % 2008-09 - 40 games, 28 wins, 2.04 GAA and .928 save % split with 8 games in the NHL 2008-09 Canucks 8 games, 2 wins, 3.38 GAA and 0.877 save % Back in 09-10 Moose: 60 games, 35 wins, 2.51 GAA, and .919 save % Canucks: 2 games, no wins, 3.81 GAA and .915 save % As a back up: Canucks 2010-11 25 games, 16 wins, 2.23 GAA, .929 save % 2011-12 33 games, 20 wins, 1.96 GAA, .936 save % 2012 Playoffs: 3 games, 1 win, 1.31 GAA, and .960 save % He has played a full season in the AHL as a starter, as has Eddie Lack. From what I understand, that's playing a year as a pro. He's gotten better and better each season. He's stood tall playing against teams that Luongo has issues playing against (Chicago, Boston). The facts are he's ready for prime time. So is Eddie Lack. Is it a gamble? Yes. Unproven as a starter is a lot different than a raw rookie. Legend Killer
Steve Mason played for Ken Hitchcock who's system notoriously has made goaltenders appear better than they really are. Roman Cechmanek, Robert Esche, Pascal Leclaire, Marty Turco, etc.
