SamJamIam
So Ovechkin is calling out the refs, just as Washington gets shafted exactly the same way we did. The Corsi numbers of that series show the exact same thing ours did: Washington was the better team 5 on 5 while the Rangers were absolute crap. And now the better team gets to go golfing. Make a friend with a official. You can make a lot of money betting on rigged games and series.

TheJokesOnYou
So let me get this straight. You actually believe that the league would screw over washington, who has the second most marketable star in the league, to push through a rangers team that probably can't beat boston. Please tell me you realize how rediculous this sounds.
bhawks21
Yeah, Rome gets kicked out of the SCF, a 40 game suspension according to Shanahan (he stated each SCF final game was equal to 10 regular season games), for being a split second late on a legitimate hockey play on a journeyman hockey player. Duncan Keith gets a five game rest before the playoffs start for a blatant attempt to injure Sedin, a true superstar. But heck no, there's no favouritism in the NHL. Nope nope nope. Bananas
Why do you guys insist on having this conversation spill into other threads? JokesOnYou is right btw. Stop being a homer because the NHL loves your team, bkawks. It's not CDC's fault you're too young and childish to understand corruption.
TheJokesOnYou
God pick a topic and stay with it. We weren't talking about player suspensions. This was about refereeing and conspiracy theorists trying to make a case (a bad one) that the league has favorites they want to win.
Bananas
LOL, pretty hard explaining the difference in suspensions to Rome and Keith isn't it? Other than bias of course.
bhawks21
Maybe it has something to do with him being a Hawks fan.
Bananas
Pretty su re I was on these boards saying the suspension was rediculous. Ask any of the regs who have seen me for a few years on these boards. My fandom has nothing to do with my objectivity.

bhawks21
Well, both your fandom and objectivity are lacking credibility as a result of your blatant ignorance. That ignorance is a direct biproduct of your team being on the long end of the stick in terms of how the NHL is run.

bhawks21
Still not going to explain the difference in the Rome and Keith suspensions? I don't blame you. It'simpossible to explain without admitting league bias.

bhawks21
ROFL! Good excuse! Let me help you out. Not a head shot, not a cheap shot, just a split second late on a legitimate hit. And that warrants getting kicked out of the SCF (A forty game suspension according to Shanahan), but Keith's blatant attempt to injure gets a five game rest before the playoffs begin. Again, league officials had this on video, and could watch it as many times as neccessary to get it right. There is no "human fallability" or "missing the play" involved. How do you explain the suspensions other than league favouritism? Oh, and check out Webber going full WWE that year in the playoffs. No suspension for that, just a little fine. Again, a play that was far far worse than what Rome did.
TheJokesOnYou
Bahahahhahahahaha that's what you're going to stand on? Horton almost went from the red line to the blue line without the puck and then gets hit. That's not a "bit" late. That's way late.
