TRADE WARS! c2x vs Nail

On the table:

To COL: Troy Brouwer, 3rd Round Draft Pick

To WSH: Paul Stastny

Stastny desperately needs a change of scenery, that much is clear, and with the Avs depth up the middle, this one is intriguing. However, Troy Brouwer, while effective, is the kind of player the Avs already have with Steve Downie. What the Avs could use is a young winger with some offensive potential who can slide into the top 6 and grow with the Avs young core group. Marcus Johansson is a solid fit in this area. Stastny fills a void for the Capitals in giving them a strong 2nd line center option who can play at both ends of the ice, and he still puts up points, scoring 21 goals and 53 points in the last full season and 24 points in 40 games last season, a 50 point pace.

Counter offer:

To COL: Marcus Johansson

To WSH: Paul Stastny

On the table:

To EDM: Stephane Da Costa, Erik Condra, 4th Round Draft Pick

To OTT: Ales Hemsky

An intriguing deal but more bottom 6 depth might not be what the Oilers need, as defence is their most pressing concern by far. Without going too much further into this one, I'm going to turn this one down, not because it doesn't merit further analysis, but because it doesn't quite mesh with what I'd like to do with the Oilers.

Offer #1:

To CBJ: Evgeni Malkin, Jussi Jokinen, Simon Despres

To PIT: Ryan Johansen, Nick Foligno, Nikita Nikitin, Jack Skille, 1st Round Draft Selection

The Penguins are in the unique position of being able to deal a player like Malkin and still have a franchise centerman on the roster. Adding a strong young center like Johansen can help soften the blow of moving Malkin. The real draw here for the Pens is adding some much needed depth on the wings. Foligno is an excellent two way player who can kill penalties, win battles and chip in on offense. He'd be a great fit on any of the Pens top 3 lines and paired with Brandon Sutter the Penguins can be just as stingy on the defensive side as they can be dangerous on the attack. Jack Skille could flourish in the Penguins system, and Nikita Nikitin has already made an impact at the NHL level, upgrading the Penguins blue line instantly. Adding a 1st round pick adds more value. Columbus would add the franchise player and elite level center the team has never had, and Jussi Jokinen can fill the void left by Foligno. Despres is still a little rough around the edges, but has some potential, and moving Nikitin gives the Jackets the roster room for Ryan Murray to step in, so their defence should be able to cope. Moving a 1st is tough, but to get Malkin, it's not that tough.

TRADE WARS! c2x vs Nail

On the Table:

To COL: Marcus Johansson

To WSH: Paul Stastny

Counter Offer:

To COL: Marcus Johansson, Joel Ward

To WSH: Paul Stastny, 2014 3rd Round Pick

We unfortunately don't have the cap space to make this move. We counter with you taking on Joel Ward for a 3rd round pick. Ward is a solid bottom 6 grinder, and he helps your cap situation as well after dumping off 6.6M.

On the Table:

To CBJ: Evgeni Malkin, Jussi Jokinen, Simon Despres

To PIT: Ryan Johansen, Nick Foligno, Nikita Nikitin, Jack Skille, 1st Round Draft Selection

If the Penguins were going to move a player of Evgeni's caliber that is signed long term, it would take a lot more then that. We are also giving up a young top 6 dman with potential to become a top 4 dman. We counter with:

To CBJ: Evgeni Malkin, Jussi Jokinen, Brian Doumoulin

To PIT: Ryan Johansen, Nick Foligno, Ryan Murray, 2014 2nd Round Pick

In our minds, Malkin = Murray + Johansen + 2nd Round Pick. A current first line center for a future top 2 dman that will be able to play with Letang in the next couple years and a future top 6 centerman that can take over Malkins role. The 2nd Round Pick is because of Pitt is acquiring future, while CBJ is acquiring win now players. Also, Jokinen + Doumoulin = Foligno. A swap of top 6 wingers but because of the age difference we added in Doumoulin. If Pitt acquires Ryan Murray, there would be no room for Doumoulin to play in the future. A future top 6 of Murray-Letang Despres-Pouliot and Maatta-Harrington would be unstoppable.

TRADE WARS! c2x vs Nail

On the table:

To COL: Marcus Johansson, Joel Ward

To WSH: Paul Stastny, 2014 3rd Round Pick

This is a counter offer I can definitely live with. Johansson has loads of future potential, and Joel Ward only adds to the Avs depth, he's strong in both zones and can chip in offensively. No need to counter at all, I'm taking this one. First deal completed!

On the table:

To CBJ: Evgeni Malkin, Jussi Jokinen, Brian Doumoulin

To PIT: Ryan Johansen, Nick Foligno, Ryan Murray, 2014 2nd Round Pick

If Malkin = Murray + Johansen + 2nd Round Pick, then I'd be more inclined to work around that framework rather than including Jokinen and Foligno in the mix. However, with Murray going out, that does hit the Jackets depth on the blueline. Nikitin and Goloubef look promising but aren't of the same caliber as Murray. In order to include him, the Jackets would need a strong defensive prospect as well, and I'm not sure Dumoulin has that kind of ceiling. If Pouliot or Despres was included, then I'd feel better about moving Murray. The pick going to the Penguins is upgraded to a 1st and a decent left wing prospect in Dalton Smith is added to compensate for adding one of those defensive prospects.

Counter offer:

To CBJ: Evgeni Malkin, Derrick Pouliot

To PIT: Ryan Johansen, Ryan Murray, Dalton Smith, 2014 1st Round Pick.

We would be fine just including the Malkin for Johansen, Murray, Pick part. But, if we were to include Derrick Pouliot, we would like one of Kerby Rychel or Alex Wennberg in return.

St.Louis Blues Forward Report 2013/14

After we had a Year with some bad, luck the Blues are looking forward to the Next Season.

Top 6 Forwards Capt´n Iggy and Nathan Horton got moved at the Deadline and Jason Chimera in the Post Season for Depth Players, Prospects and Draftpicks. We got back some interesting Players like TJ Galiardi, Patrick Bordeleau ; Joey Vitale, Jim O´Brien,Darrol Powe, Joey Crabb and Prospect Michael Bournival. Colin MacDonald was also interesting but he decided to heading into Free Agency..all tries to keep him failed even we had a Big Package on the Table..sadly. Further we dealt Chad Larose to Chicago for Shawn Horcoff and signed Brenden Morrow after we failed to re-sign Chris Higgins who was our Primary Option to keep.

Brenden Morrow will be our New Captain for the next Season and healthy he will be an upgrade to Chris Higgins.

Shawn Horcoff could be our Darkhorse for this Year. His 12/13 Season was not his best but now he gets some fresh air and new Guys around , which could help him to bring up old Numbers. 30-40 Points are not impossible. Shawn will fight for the 2nd Line Job with Sean Bergenheim though. Sean had a bad Year..Played a few Games in Europe during the Lockout untill he got seriously injured and missed the whole NHL Season. Healthy he could be also a good 30-35 Points Player. We hope he didnt lost his Scoring instinct. He had 17 Goals in the 11/12 Season. Another unlucky Guy was Stephen Weiss. Nothing worked for him in the12/13 Season.

He was struggling badly until a wrist injury kept him out of the rest of the Season. 4 Points in 17 Games is nothing for Stephen.

We hope he can repeat the 57 Points from 11/12.

With Erat, Legwand and Hodgson we kept the rest of our Top 6. Cody had a good Season with 15 Goals and 34 Points in 48 Games. Legwand 25 Points and Erat 24 Points in 12/13 are still solid 40-50 Points Players in a Full Season.

Marcel Goc is the Heart of the 3rd Line and he has grewn up to a solid allrounder. With 9 Goals and 19 Points in 12/13

he had a really good Year . In a full Season he may would have cracked the 40 Points mark..personal best.

He could be a serious competition for Dave Legwand for the 2nd Line Center Spot in the Future if he keeps things going.

TJ Galiardi was one of the really positive acquirements at the Deadline. 5 Goals and 14 Points are really good for 3rd Liner

and we are wondering what he can do in a full Season. Pobably around 40 Points like 09/10? We´ll see if he could be

a competitor for the 2nd Line....Horcoff and Bergenheim have to watchout for TJ.

Projected St.Louis Blues Top 9

Brenden Morrow (3,500) - Stephen Weiss (4,750) - Cody Hodgson (4,000)

Martin Erat (4,500) - David Legwand (5,000) - Sean Bergeheim (2,800)/ Shawn Horcoff (2,800)

TJ Galiard (1,800) - Marcel Goc (1,750) Sean Bergenheim (2,800)/ Shawn Horcoff (2,800)

Top 9 Total Caphit = $30,900 Million

Our Bottom line last Season was a disaster most of the Time. Guys like Tomas Vincour, Chad Larose , Andrei Loktionov,

Michael Sgarbossa and Jon Rheault didnt worked out. Loktionov was great just after we Dealt him to Winnipeg though.

A really Bad Move. Late aqcuirements like Arron Asham and Waivers Claim Steve Begin brough some light into 4th Line though.

With Patrick Bordeleau we got a really strong 4th Liner who just had his first full NHL Year in 12/13.

Joey Vitale and Jim O´Brien completes the 4th Line. Well both had a Year with up and downs but we

are confident that they will help us.

Another Guy who had a bad Year is Joey Crabb. After a great 11/12 Season with 11 Gaols and 26 Points in 67

Games he moved down to 2 Goals in 26 Games. We hope he will find his scoring touch back in 13/14.

This would be a great Help for our Team.

0...is the Number of Darroll Powe in 12/13. Not only 1 Scorerpoint after solid Years with between 10-20 Points

per Season is pretty good for a 4th Liner. Like with Joey Crabb, we hope Darroll wil lfind his way back to old Numbers.

Projected St.Louis Blues Bottom Line and Extra Attackers

Patrick Bordeleau (0,675) - Joey Vitale (2,000) - Jim O´Brien (0,900)

Joey Crabb (0,900) - Darroll Powe (1,100)

Total Bottom Lines Caphit = $5,575 Million

Players on the Jump into the Lineup...

Michael Bournival , Michael Sgarbossa, Eric Selleck , Michael Raffl...may some surprises???

We´ll see....

Full Lineup with Salary ,etc. around the Week

Looking for Google Docs advice. When we used the old team sheets they would, after I opened them, be accessible in my google docs list even though I could not edit them, i could open my Gdocs and click the link to see the various team sheets. Since we moved to the new sheets, and possibly due to my changing something I am unaware of in google docs itself, I can not do this, as they don't appear there. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong or is this something everyone experienced at the change?
