Rangers Roundup

Prospects edition:

This Thanksgiving we look at all of what we are thankful for in the Rangers organization, and while the main team speaks on the ice, there are many moving parts behind the numbers that may go unnoticed, here are some of the current stories of our lesser known assets:

Maxim Shalunov, despite rumours to the contrary, did report to the minor league affiliate and had a good camp. He played his first game in a North American league and looks to spend the season adjusting and perfecting his game. A great talent, we are happy to see he stayed in N.A.

Andrew Johnston is starting the year in the ECHL. This is a great fit for Andrew as he rose to prominence in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with an impressive post season in 11-12. We are happy to see Andrew continue to play Pro Hockey and we expect he will see some action as a callup to our affiliate the Connecticut Whale throughout the year.

Craig Cunningham already has a goal in the minors and looks to improve on his 36 and 46 points in his first two pro years of hockey. We love the fight in this 5'10" former Vancouver Giant.

Corey Cowick has also notched his first goal in the minors as he looks to continue to earn more trust and higher levels of competition. This will mark his fourth year in the minors, but to his credit he has come back from two ECHL demotions and had a breakthrough year last year, putting up 35 points with 85 penalty minutes and staying plus 8. We expect to see a solid continuation of that development this year from Corey and are pleased with his game thus far.

St.Louis Blues Player of the Week

Joey McDonald

joey-macdonald-01adbe2a86d37279.jpg

Goalie Joey MacDonald is our Player of the Week.

Joey recorded 2 Wins ,1 Overtime Loss and 25 Poolpoints

in Week 2 which makes him one of the better Goalies in the early Season.

The Blues acquired Joey in the Summer via Trade and signed him later during the Free Agency . "It was though piece of Work to sign him because of our Goalie Depth but we wanted Joey and we finally

found an agreement. We have knewn that Joey could really help us after our Goalie Disaster last Season. Till now he proved us right and we hope we´ll have a lot more fun with Joey this Season." Bombastic said.

MacDonald is now in a tough competition with Steve Mason for the Starting Job in St.Louis.

This will be a very interesting thing to keep an eye on...

Release: The New York Rangers have suspended Ivan Telegin for failure to report to the affiliate Connecticut Whale when assigned. We request Ivan be removed from our team organizational roster.

Prospect forward Ivan Telegin has been suspended by the Winnipeg Jets for not reporting to their AHL farm team in St. John's, NL, the NHL team confirmed this morning.

The 21-year-old winger, who has two years remaining on his entry-level NHL contract, told a teammate on social media he was heading back to Russia, his home country.

Telegin had been assigned to the AHL team early last week.

The Jets issued a brief comment this morning through their communications department that said: "The Winnipeg Jets have suspended Ivan Telegin for failure to report to the St. John's IceCaps due to personal reasons."

Telegin suffered through a concussion and post-concussion symptoms for much of last season, dragging into the spring and summer. The speedy forward managed just 34 games for the IceCaps as a pro rookie. He had reported to the Jets camp for the rookie tournament in Penticton, B.C., earlier this month and had played in three exhibition games for the Jets this month, recording one assist.

Suspended sure, but I can't remove his contract from the books unless he retires or signs a contract to play in Russia.

It's happening again.... :frantic:

Recall: Pending an LTIR request for Matt Calvert (who joins Rick Nash and Ed Jovanovski ), the Habs recall Kevin Connauton from North Dakota. He'll slot in as the 8th defenseman.

Not again...

Team LTIR strikes again! Man, you have the worst luck with injuries it seems....

Sorry, misread the OP for having a maximum of 14F, 8D and 2G on the roster.

The Red Wings waive Jeff Schultz, with the intention of sending him to the minors, to make room for Kris Russell.

Once again sorry about the misjudgment.

EDIT: should be Rusty Klesla on D, not Olesz, and Ian White should be in the minors.
