bp79 Posted July 26, 2014 Share Posted July 26, 2014 Hansen seems redundant and I don't see the point of keeping Lack AND Markstrom. Miller is capable of playing 60 games and Markstrom can be the backup. Once Millers contract is expired and even before it's expired Markstrom should be able to (in theory) start challenging Miller for the starting job. 3-4 years down the road it could be Demko backing up Markstrom. I agree lack is in the age group where if he isnt good enough to be a starter he prolly never will be. dont ge me wrong hes got very high end skill, just dont think he can do it for 60 games a year. so much of goaltending is between the ears and routine. big diff between knowing ur the starter compared to knowing ur gonna play on back to back nights and a handfull of weaker teams. lack is to normal lol. Most goalies are a little messed in the head and quirky just look at miller lou roy hextall brizz, billy smith thomas i could go on all night . then look at backups, mostly normal lack reimer we have seen what happens when they are starters. lacks gaa went up over a goal a game and his sp went from over 93 to 91 in just 17 games. Willie has already expressed what he expects amd what he thinks of the twins. They bounce right back this year, dominating the puck, and points boards!
