The Brindy Gypsy
Now I know everyone loves Tanev, myself included. But would you take Hamonic straight up for him? To Van: Hamonic To: NYI: Tanev The reason I would is that as good defensively as Tanev is, for a top pairing guy he is not physical or any offensive threat. Even though Hamonic has similar stats I believe he has more offensive upside, and plays a very physical game. Great skater and has size, and the best part is he makes less than Tanev. Hamonic is locked in for 4 more years at only 3.8 where as Tanev is 4 more years at 4.5. I feel like it would be a slight upgrade at a cheaper cost. Would love to see some more bite from our top guys. This would give us one of the toughest D cores in the league... elvis15
Yes, I would, but it's not like NYI would accept that. They weren't even going to consider that when they were trading Hamonic, but now that's off the table after his situation has changed again. Rick Blight
The same reasons you give for Vancouver wanting to make this move are the ones why the Islanders would not.
Ojibwa72
Garth Snow is smarter than that plus Hamonic does not want to move now and has stated as such through the media.
