Kevin Biestra
Here it is, Game 3 of the 1982 Cup Final. The Canucks' first home game of the series. SPOILER DISCUSSION... Before you get your hopes up too high, I believe Bryan Trottier said that Game 3 and 4 in Vancouver were perhaps the two best games the Islanders ever played in all the years of their dynasty. But the Canucks put in a spirited effort. And the King still has the royal never say die attitude. With the team in front of him facing five Hall of Famers and three more guys that had their jerseys retired in New York on top of that, he has to face 18 shots in the second period alone. Breakaways, point blank shots in the slot, second rebounds. After a costly stickhandling gaffe, he buckles down with ice water in his veins and does the opposite of a meltdown. Five Hall of Famers, three more guys with their numbers in the rafters on Long Island, and that's not even counting Brent Sutter (100 point player), Bob Bourne and Ken Morrow (the 1980 Miracle on Ice). The Islanders' second goal is considered by many to be the best goal of Mike Bossy's career, after the King made the first save. Canucks' four stars of the game (official Biestra ratings)... 4. Harold Snepsts 3. Doug Halward 2. Thomas Gradin 1. Richard Brodeur Edited May 9, 2020 by Kevin Biestra
Captain Canuck #12
Just 1:03 into the game, the WOR graphic reads: "Voice of Jim Robson" . That one had me seriously questioning my own ears, but it's definitely not Jim Robson on WOR. Very odd!
Dumb Nuck
Game one was a heartbreaker but the Islanders were a dynasty on steroids, amazing run for the Canucks.
