^ Yeah. Pretty much agree. Everyone is just gushing about how great this season has been. And i agree that it has been. Which is why we can't have one car dominating the sport for nearly a decade.

For most of the hybrid era, Mercedes has even been turning their engine down to 80% during races just because they could.

The engine has to be cheaper and simpler. Spec racing isn't as fun but that's just the way the economics of racing is pushing. All of the technical low hanging fruit has been picked. Now we have teams spending 10's of millions on aero just for a tiny advantage. It doesn't have to be pure spec like Indy.

I totally forgot that qualifying was today ugggh.

Sprint race tomorrow

Anyway hamilton was fastest but he took a new ICE engine and will have a 5 place penalty for the race. Not the sprint race. Just the main event.

Damn I forgot too. Was looking to PVR it.

Hoping to watch the sprint race live.

There is going to be high stakes this weekend.

Helmut Marko was right. They had a feeling Hamilton would take a new engine again for the last few races.

Important that Max stays out of trouble at the start.

We all know the history between Hamilton and Max on sprint race weekends.

Frustrating for Ferrari they can't catch that flying Frenchman Pierre Gasly with 2 cars to attack and play the strategy games with!!!

Oh well happy to see it looks like they have the measure of McLaren at the very least for third place in the constructors.

It feels like the Canucks with 5 games left in the SCF. Honestly it kinda pisses me off when all these Merc fans keep saying that its basically over. Or that they are underdogs now. This was the 9th race in a row where Merc was the fastest in practice.

Hopefully Perez will have good race pace and he'll be a factor against Hamilton. Because they might start the race beside each other.

Yeah I hope Ferrari returns to being elite next year and finish this season on a good note. Maybe Mclaren too. So we have 4 elite teams.

Slam dunk DSQ

Hamilton's #BrazilGP #F1 Sprint pole could be in jeopardy. He's been referred to the stewards over a possible technical infringement with his Mercedes' rear wing. Full story: https://the-race.com/formula-1/hamilton-referred-to-stewards-over-wing-issue/

Hamilton’s car referred to the stewards for a DRS technical infringement.

The uppermost rear wing element adjustable positions were checked on car number 44 ... The requirement for the minimum distance was fulfilled. But the requirement for the maximum of 85mm, when the DRS system is deployed and tested in accordance with TD/011-19, were not fulfilled.

Slam dunk DSQ

This is getting juicy..

Toto and Merc pulling out all the stops their desperation really shows..

Wouldn't be surprised if Bottas gets team orders to take out Perez or Verstappen in the next few weeks or at least try to block them wherever possible and be a nuisance.

This is going to be coming down to the wire.

Another good result for RedBull this weekend will have Toto steaming...

Love watching the pressure get to Merc they have been on easy street for far far too long with no competitive team to challenge them.

More drama. Looks like Mercedes lodged a complaint with the FIA for Max allegedly touching the Mercedes car in parc ferme. I don't see it as conclusive on the video.

Here it is

But here's Vettel feeling up competitors cars all the time.

What a joke if Max gets any punishment just more mental tactics from Toto and Merc...

So what if he touched their bendy rear wing? If it was regulation they wouldn't have to worry.

It's not as if he is that strong to bend it enough with his bare hands to produce a failed measurement upon inspection if that is what they are indeed alleging to the FIA now.

Let's see what has happened tomorrow morning...

They are sure taking long to make a ruling on it. Still nothing.

Parc ferme rules are there so that teams cannot tune up their own cars after inspection. But the Merc boys are making it sound like the holy grail of parc ferme is so that ppl don't touch each others cars.

Sheesh. So Hamilton starts last and finishes 5th. And Max finishes 2nd on medium tires and couldn't pass Bottas for the lead who was on softs. Yet before the race, all Mercedes fanboys were saying that this DSQ already decided the championship.

If these Mercedes engines are legal, then I think the championship might indeed be decided. Hamilton literally blew past Leclerc and Gasley  the same way he blew past the Williams and Haas.

Engine change of the season for Hammy.

I wouldnt be surprised if he finished 3rd.

Very easy to overtake with such a straightline speed advantage.

Lando Norris said Lewis barely had to break a sweat in the sprint.

Maybe he should be racing on only 3 wheels to give the others a chance ..

Hopefully the higher track temps and the dirty hot turbulent air helps cool down Hamilton's charge.

Let's see how brave he is at the start to try to make up places quickly...

Not looking good for RedBull as they head to the Muslim countries those tracks favour cars with the straight line speed advantage.

Hamilton looked like a torpedo today with the slipstreams and was cruising with DRS the whole race...

Hopefully yes. I'd like to think things won't be this easy for Mercedes. It looked like a Formula 1 car in a Formula 2 race. Mercedes could change the engine and take a 5 place penalty for the rest of the races at this rate.

RedBull have to win with better pit stops and strategies and a bit of luck going forward after this race.

Hopefully the higher temps eat away at Mercs tyres and overheating their engines becomes more of a concern.

RedBull may well survive this weekend and salvage a good result.

However the real issues are going forward Merc will be the bonafide favorite going into the remaining circuits on the calendar.

Don't know what RedBull can do to fight back legally to make up for that massive speed difference in the next few races alone.

This is asking for miracles unless you think Honda have some HP in reserve that they haven't unleashed in the engines yet.

Max might have to adopt the Nico Rosberg "Win it or bin it" strategy to stay ahead in the championship and fight off Hamilton with some mind games on and off track.

Hoping it doesn't have to come to that but we could definitely see some more shenanigans if it gives either team an edge...

Publicly Max has adopted the approach that it's not the be all end all if he doesn't win this year.

He feels it is just a matter of when not if he beats out Hamilton even if it happens next year.

Horner sorta kinda implies that Mercedes is up to no good. Im glad he said it.

Yeah definitely think they will request the FIA to look into that and ask for "clarification" even if they don't plan to launch a full on protest yet.

Same thing was done back in 2019 when Ferrari was blistering down the straights after the summer break and they were found to be burning oil.

What came out of that was a private settlement that was never disclosed on what discipline Ferrari were exposed to.
