It's allowing players to stay on LTIR till the playoff that's causing the issue.  An alternative - to be eligible for round 1 players on LTIR have to be activated to the main roster on the last day of the regular season.  Will somewhat penalise teams who are out of the playoffs as there would be a smaller market for their upcoming UFAs.  Shouldn't unfairly hurt teams that have avoided LTIR and banked cap space to add at the TDL.  

 

I can agree with this and I thank you for jumping on "the Lock thought train express" for a moment. :)

 

I like this modification to the idea. It's, again, another simple solution that hopefully solves the problem. I guess it will be interesting to see how this actually gets solved when it comes time to the next bargaining agreement.
