  1. Feels like a Grabner or a Raymond- "WHY CAN"T YOU BE CONSISTENT?" Jensen has that elite skill. He's just not consistent and it probably infuriates him as much as it infuriates us. From personal experience, inconsistencies are as result of a bad fundamentals, and those aren't easy to fix, esp. given his window to make the NHL
  2. 5 pts in 8 games. This guy is flying ridiculously under the radar around here
  3. Key word: meddle. Its better to have 1 vision as a team and act upon it rather dispersed ideas that really lead no where. Why do you think the Mavericks can't ever hold on to GMs well? Clearly there are conflicting ideals of control and vision.
  4. Knew it from the moment of the Torterella hire. Any time an owner meddles with a GM's job, you can bet that team is not going to be successful.
  5. only in Toronto do leaves fall in the spring :D
  6. remember the days when Leafs fan stayed in the closet? oh I miss those days. I thought the Canucks fan base had a lot of idiots, but I guess they have an even larger fanbase. On a team that doesn't have much puck control % and a TERRIBLE corsi, who on the team would get a lot of ozone start, PERIOD?
  7. I'm a pretty diehard Canucks fan, and I hope the Leafs don't make the playoffs as much as the next guy, but I don't think a fan of the Vancouver Canucks should accuse any other teams of being "chokers". It's like trying to make fun of the homeless when you're living in that cardboard box by East Hastings and Main
  8. I honestly think Lack is in play, not Luongo. We might be trying to showchase Lack rn.
  9. Haven't you taken any Highschool level English? as the saying goes, "Who cares what you think?"
  10. what was Cherry saying about Peter Angelo? i missed it
  11. 1-5 L. With the sudden parade of trash scoring hat-tricks against the Canucks as of late, I nominate Phil "the thrill" Kessel to score a hatty tmrw.
  12. I listed stats vs playoff teams and non playofffs team this season compared to last. How is this cherry picking? But hey, i get it. You have a hard-on for Torts. At least back up your arguments eh?
  13. Agree with the first part, disagree with the second. "Slow decline" might be a worse description for "key players injured". Our problem has always been lack of a top 6 fwd, and ever since Ehrhoff left, a puck moving dman. Its just been more apparent these last 2 years. These qualities were, and are, just magnified more than ever right now when the absence of our top scorer has been injured, our scoring has dried up. Adding to that, it was less apparent last year because the Sedins were forced to play a more defensive role and still scored at near PPG. We were a 1 line team. Playoffs showed that when the Sedins were shut down, the team was shut down. However, the core still needs a tweak, as Higgins, nor Hansen, is a top 6 fwd. We're still in desperate need for one. In addition, Edler and Garrison has been MIA for quite some time now,, and Burrows needs to fix whatever he has going on. Still, the horizon becomes less bleak when Kassian develops, the Sedins and the dcorps healthy, a more than obvious Booth buyout happens, and when Torts adjusts his system to suit his corps of players.
  14. you're cute. can't back up your arguments then blatantly call other people dumb. I've also noticed you never responded to my posts. why the hell are you even here? to shove your chauvinistic thoughts down other peoples throats in blind hopes that they might believe what you say, just for the sake of that little, but much needed reassurance it may give for you to crawl another day? Troll.
  15. Exactly. Its either Torts goes or the players go. And Torts likely isn't going anywhere as it would make Gillis lose face. As result, Gillis reported that he's ready to "retool" for players that suits Tort's needs.
  16. Issue is, Sedin's "decline" is as result of playing a different system, even during last year. Last year, H. Sedin managed 45pts over 48 (near PPG), all whilst playing a VERY defensive system with a DREADFUL PP. The difference from last year's to this is in addition to a defensive system, they're killing penalties and taking even more D-zone starts, all whilst having a similar GA/60 to last year. I, for one, do not believe they are declining, as the start of year play is really indicative of their skill. A decline is more or less gradual, and not a landslide of going 1 pts in his last 12 games (D.Sedin). I'm not sure why you brung up Higgins or Kesler really. Kesler poised for 52 pts, which honestly, would be pretty disgusting for pre-injury Kesler. Add that to the fact that he's finally healthy since 2011, I don't see how that's an improvement. As for Santorelli and Higgins, they're 3rd line players that have arisen to produce ~50pts as result of Tort's system of bang and crash. Their style of play suits Torts, and I'm not bashing Tort's system specifically, but its just our overall team does not have the make-up for it. You can't ask the Sedins to go hard and play a bruiser style of hockey to fetch the puck. It's not how their game works. Goes back to my round peg in square hole argument. Like honestly if you put Tort's style on the Chicago Blackhawks team of pure finesse and skill, it wouldn't suit them as well as it would suit the LA Kings.
  17. WIth the way he treats his players? He's trying to keep players accountable playing a system that doesn't allow them to succeed. You have a group of veterans that found success at the NHL level before, and when you place them in a sh*thole of a system that reduces his top scoring stars into a laughing stock scoring at the pace of Tom Sestito, tell me how his players can trust him after that? He knows his players aren't sticking to his system, and when your players don't buy into your system, its pretty indicative of how influential you are as a coach.
  18. We have the virtually the same players these last two years. If we sucked last year, how are we this year? If we sucked last year, and vs PLAYOFFS ONLY TEAM we're 7-6-5, and we're 6-9-4 vs PLAYOFFS ONLY TEAMS this year, how does the Math add up buddy? If we have a worse record this year vs the same bottom feeders compared to the "we sucked last year" team, how are we doing bud? Need me to fetch a calculator for you?
  19. whoa! you're showing me alright! I loved your post man. 10/10. I loved how substantiated your argument is. Care to elaborate?...oh wait. edit: if you'd like, you can search our record last year vs weak teams compared to this year. We even have a worse record vs weak teams this year. but man, you're showing me!
  20. okay... vs WC playoffs teams last season that made the playoffs, the Canucks were 7-6-5. this season, vs WC playoffs team (will include PHXm not MIN), the Canucks are 6-9-4. What else you got, buddy?
  21. The point is with the same amount of injuries as playing just as defensively structured last season, AV's Canucks finished 3rd in the conference. The point is that AV can run a team just as defensively sound as Torterella without having to buy a goal. The point is that other teams with not even nearly as much skills as the Canucks are in the same ranking as them. The point is that the players were never struggling nearly as much under AV as they are under Torterella. The point is that The Canucks have 4 wins in their last 18 games. Do you need it dumb'd down any more for you, Einstein?
  22. It was more than 2 minutes early on in the season. It was almost 3-4 minutes. In addition to more minutes, they are playing tougher minutes. More D-zone starts means more checking. Adding to that, I'm an athlete. 1-2 extra minutes at 100% is hard. Even if it were an extra 2 minutes, going at 100% for 1-2 extra minutes for maybe 1-2 weeks is tolerable. Doing it for an entire season is not. Judging by the reports of how the twins can do 2 miles in under 10 minutes means already shows that their conditioning is top notch.
  23. Agree with everything except for Lavioette. He is an ill-prepared coach with no sense of organization. Anyways, the only thing left I have to say is that Torts realizes he lost the room. He knows he eff'd up. Look at him during games and interviews now compared to before. He acts like a bulldog that got nuddered because he knows that he isn't getting through to the players. Yelling isn't going to solve the situation, and thank god he realizes it. What he needs to realize now is how to change his system to let our players thrive. That's the only way to win the room back. Otherwise, he's going to have a lot on his mind to think about when he's eventually left without a job.
