Lions' Mitchell loses appeal of two-game suspension:

The two-game suspension handed to B.C. Lions defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell was upheld by an arbitrator on Wednesday.

Mitchell will serve the suspension over the course of the next two Lions' games.

"We welcome this decision and will continue to work with our players and their association to safeguard player health and safety," said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.

Mitchell was suspended for hyperextending the arm of Edmonton offensive lineman Simeon Rottier during a loss to the Eskimos last month.

Rottier left the game and although he returned to the sidelines for the second half, he didn't see any action. He has missed the last two games.
