Jordan Schroeder Talk

I was checking WHL scores to see how Connauton was doing tonight and seen Beach had 2 goals tonight. Just looked at his stats because it seemed like there was a good chance the Canucks were gonna end up with Beach pre-draft. So if ya wanna think I was insinuating something, you go right ahead,,,,lol

Look dude, Beach is an idiot. He could get 150 points in the WHL this season and I'd still be happy we didn't take the cancerous little punk.

Schroeder getting assists is good enough for Lucia

Gophers coach Don Lucia said he is not worried that sophomore center Jordan Schroeder has not scored a goal yet this season.

Schroeder was picked by the WCHA coaches and media to be the conference's Player of the Year or, in one poll, the co-Player of the Year with St. Cloud State forward Ryan Lasch.

"I am not worried about that [goals] as long as he is picking up points," Lucia said. "The [Alaska Anchorage] goalie made a great save on the one. That line is starting to get some chances and scored two goals. That's the important thing for me.:

Mike Hoeffel and Jay Barriball, Schroeder's linemates, each had one goal. Schroeder had two assists Sunday for the second day in a row as the Gophers won 4-1 over the Seawolves.

"Jordan is a great assist guy, too, and those guys have to finish those plays when he sets them up," Lucia said.

Schroeder had only 13 goals last season but 32 assists for 45 points. This past weekend he had six shots on goal against the Seawolves in the two games and was a plus-four

Beach is exactly the type of player Gillis won't/wouldn't pick and frankly I'd be quite pissed if he did. I think if Hodgson wasn't available at #10, Gillis would have gone for either Myers, Teubert or even Boychuk which would all be great choices instead of Beach. That kid is a punk

Which is why Chicago drafted the cancer known as Kyle Beach.

let me get this straight...Chicago drafted Beach because Gillis wouldn't? hhmmm, I don't get it. Are you saying Dale Tallon is a better GM than Gillis? knows more about prospects than the Canucks? are dumb for drafting the cancerous retard? That Blackhawks don't mind drafting donkeys...and the Canucks are committed to a higher standard? Tell me more.

As I recall, Gillis had Beach on his shortlist, along with Tyler Myers and Zach Boychuck , that we would have drafted with our 10th pick. Also Brian Burke wanted to draft him with the 12th pick, but because he was drafted 11th, Burke traded that pick. Beach might have some issues, but he is a good player.

One can't deny that he's got he tools, but his skills aren't good enough to make up for his character flaws, imo. I watched him play in Everett for 2 1/2 years and he was entertaining, but I always thought he was an idiot, kind of the way I felt about Jarko Ruutu and Matt Cooke when they were Canucks.

I was saying last year that it was still too early to give up on White. I saw him as a potential 3rd line centre or, if he was very lucky and determined, a second line player. He was playing with plugs last year, and I think he may have moved up on the depth chart.

That said, I would still take Ehrhoff over him in a heartbeat.
