Atheist Students Encourage Christians To Exchange Their Bibles For…Pornography

I'm saying humans are bad - regardless of their beliefs/way of life.

Proof? Just look at the comments people make in threads like this one and others here...just look at the world and the crime...

My favourite quote from Planet of the Apes:

"Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death. "

You know consumer reports? In particular around cars? Do you know statistics?

Here's the "false equivalences" for you.

10,000 Corrolas are sold againt 100,000 Escorts.

There were 10 times as many issues with people reporting on Escorts than Corrolas - so that makes them a far less reliable car.

Yet the percentage is the same.

So, just because 1 out of 100 priests (for arguments sake, I have no idea what the ratio is) doers NOT mean all priests do bad things. Nor does it mean all Religion is bad. Just like when a non religious person commits a crime or does something bad does NOT mean all non religious people are bad.

I have probably said something similar to that over a hundred times here on CDC and some people just don't get it...

Wrong.

Atheism to me is free thinking.

I was never told to not believe in god. I chose to. Christians were told there is a god. They're told to obey the bible etc etc.

I follow the laws, and have my own morals, set by my own standards, families standards, and friends standards. Not by some made up, dated book

How about... comprehension?

Here, let me show you it:

He said "one will be molested by a priest", right? Where does that say how many priests molest children? It is a comment on the number of children affected. You seem to have missed that. Instead, what you got out of his statement "all priests do bad things" and "all religion is bad".

And yes, it is a false equivalency when you pit a single case of an atheist teacher who sold grades for sex with institutionalized child abuse, where the head of the current Catholic church is implicated in shuffling known child molesters around, records of child abuse stretch hundreds of years back, and hundreds of thousands of children around the globe have been affected.

The discussion has nothing to do with "people are bad", that's just your way of dismissing any criticism of Christians. I enjoy when you act all Christian-like. I'm sure Jesus is next to you right now, telling you to not judge me by telling me how terrible I am.

but seriously though, i know this is completely silly stunt, but if we are to convince people we better do it in a rational, intellectual and tasteful manner.

this kinda stunts seems like reeks of attention whoring, is junvenile and not worthy of the atheist community i feel.

"The point is not to hand out porn, but rather the primary purpose is to get people to come talk to us so we can get our message out," Bush explained. "We want to spread atheism and bring it more to the spotlight. We offer another alternative to people who might not fit in anywhere else."
