(Speculation) Rick Nash to Vancouver?

Recommended Posts

Looking at Nash's stats. He seems to have peaked in 08-09. He's been slowly declining since then. To be fair he's playing for a joke of a hockey franchise. Getting an elite prospect, a player now, and a top end draft pick would be a good start to getting Columbus back on a solid footing (Sort of like the Staal deal).

I'd rather make a deal to get Ryan Johansen from Columbus than Nash.

Well Phil kessel, and Lupul is also playing on a "joke" of a franchice, however they both put up real good starts. The same with Sidney Crosby, he was able to put up over 100 points on the 2nd worst team in the leauge. It has nothing to do with team, if he's good, he is good. Don't blame the team.

Kessel and Lupul had breakout seasons as well as a better supporting cast in all areas of their team. It's hard for Nash to put up legit 1st line numbers when he is the only one who gets targeted by the other teams shutdown players. Crosby shouldn't really be compared to him since he's the best player in the world. Besides, Rick Nash is a sniper who plays the wing, rather than a center who distributes the puck more and gets tons of secondary assists. .

No way Luongo waives his NTC.

Even sending Schneider there seems like a terrible thing to do to such a character guy. Poor Schneds, presumably, he would have to at least play there for a whole year, don't sign contract and the following year he becomes UFA.

Schneids, if you sign a contract with Van, make sure there is a NVM or else Gillis might sign and trade you to Columbus.
