Kamero89
Rick Nash finished 59th in NHL scoring...For what he makes, he is overrated.
shiznak
great and if the Canucks were team Canada then they should be all over trading for Nash, for whatever reason some players just play better for their country, like Demitra in the Olympics. Not a bad thing at all its just the way it is. Even if he was guaranteed to get a point per game in the regular season and playoffs it is not worth the cap hit + the assests that have to be given up to get him. Just my opinion though and if MG sees it differently obviously I am in no position to say otherwise.
DeNiro
Nash can change an outcome of a game with one shift all by himself. The guy is a former Rocket Richard winner at the age of 19 (in the dead puck era), and has had 6 30+ goals seasons. His points total isn't as spectacular as other superstars because he hasn't had any supporting cast in Columbus, since being drafted. If you think Kesler is better player than Nash, you either don't watch hockey or you're a blind homer.

Ronning4center
Yes, and in fact numbers don't lie. Elite players are those that reach 80+ points. Nash has yet to reach 80 points. What is your argument for him being a top 50 player in the NHL? I would consider him a top 100 player in the NHL, but at a 7.8 mil cap hit, he should be in the steven stamkos range. But regardless, Nash isn't coming here as Vancouver is officially not on his list. So this thread is done...Moving on.

Franz Liszt
Dude its a 7.2 cap hit and if you really followed the game you'd realize that Nash is pretty amazing. There is a reason every team wants him....are you calling 30 GM's with the combined hockey knowlege of over 250 years wrong?

WiDeN
I don't know what many of you are talking about, but I'd get a boner if Nash somehow found a way onto our team. Plus, GMMG won't offer anything too ridiculous to get him, so if it works out, he would be worth EVERY PENNY. I can see Nash easily putting up 40+ goals (I wouldn't even be surprised if he consistently hits the 50+ goal mark) playing with the Twins (even if he doesn't mess with them at 5 on 5, he'd still get 40+ playing with Kesler 5 on 5 and with the twins on the PP. He didn't get to play on team Canada's top line in the Olympics (or any other time) for nothing. He is a star amongst stars and would easily make our team the favorite to win 1st in the league (that is if we dont lose the twins, kesler, burrows, bieksa, hamhuis, edler, and one of our two goalies)
georgeparrosesmustache
Off topic and not really worth a new thread. There's some speculation from the Islanders camp that they do not intend to retain P.A. Parenteau. http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1206865 Just speculation, but interesting none the less. Parenteau is a play making RW Putting up a respectable 54 and 67 points the past two seasons he's been the NHL. Apparently he's asking for too much money for Snow to keep him, but Montreal has a huge boner for him. Personally I think it would be interesting to see him with Kesler and Booth. Back on topic: Woo yeah NASH....won't happen but WOOooo
Russ
It's contract for contract. No chance were trading Schnieder for that contract. If were trading for Nash, would way rather Luongo going the other way.
mpt
Cause I am sure Luongo would like to be traded to a team that needs a desperate re-build.... Schneider would be the only logical one going there (along with some other salary) since he has no pull on where he ends up. Hell Luongo can stay in Vancouver if he wants, he isn't being forced out by management no matter what.

Jester13
nowhere did i state that i think luongo is going to columbus - i said trading schneider for a $7million+ contract would handicap our team. so keep waiting, douchebag
