The galaxy is pretty darn good but the one flaw is the screen size (too big IMO). The Android's are all good as well, but the problem with them is that they release a new phone every other week... Both phones have better software than the iPhone but the iPhone is so simple to use (perfect for being on the go). Re-sale value is also much better.
I'd say go with which phone fits your lifestyle, I wouldn't get to interested in the specs, a millisecond won't make me choose one over the other.
At first I really loved iPhone, (when it originally came out) and fell in love again with their 3GS model because it was still one of the best. But now, Android has caught up to them and has passed them in the last couple of years in terms of innovation, functionality and features while iPhone seems to have gotten too comfortable with their old OS design and lack of any significant improvement aside from hardware upgrade. I mean the difference from Froyo to Jelly Bean is astonishing while the difference from iPhone 2 or 3 to iPhone 4S isn't that huge in terms of UI and OS design and architecture. In just the past year alone, Android has released numerous additions to their OS such as Google Wallet, Google Drive, Improved Google search voice, offline mode for google maps, S-Beam (NFC) etc. Am just waiting to see if Apple will take a huge leap in terms of improving their OS and adding lots of new features to it or would they just improve the hardware and only tweak the software a bit. Because as far as am concerned, their UI design is really becoming stale, with having a bunch of Apps show up at the home screen in all their versions of iPhone.
