Mark Streit, a number one defenseman for the past 4 years rated 82. Ovechkin rated higher than Malkin after Ovy had a garbage year and Malkin won the art ross in 75 games? List can go and on. There's no way to spin it but JT at the very least deserves 88, if not something like 89. Mark Sreit at 82? Pretty sure it's a sign for me to not even touch the game. JohnTavares Posted August 18, 2012 Share Posted August 18, 2012 Tavares is not a strong skater. I'm sure you can acknowledge that. That's likely the reason for the lower rating. He also isn't a stud defensively, further decreasing his rating. I'm sure he's tremendous defensively, but his other attributes are not as high. Kesler is a 2way forward, so his stats go up the better of a 2 way forward he is, and every stat is weighed equal for him. Tavares is a Sniper, so Shooting and puck control are much more heavily weighed into his rating than the defensive side of the game. Overalls aren't worth as much as the other NHL games, now it is much more about the individual stats, because your position and your playing style has a huge impact on how the person is rated. Hamhuis is so high because he is a defensive defenseman, so his defensive stats are weighed more into his overall, so they are obviously really high, but his offensive is not bad either, so his passing, and all the other offensive stats are probably rated decently high too. Lower Luongo 3. put up Schneids 4. Put up tanev 5. Lower Ovie to like an 89 6. Lower Datsyuk 7. lower phaneuf 8. Raise Tavares 9. Raise RNH 10.
