Congratulations to Nashville, looks like we're meeting in the conference semi-finals if Calgary continues producing and Chicago doesn't turn out to be the 5th team to do a reverse sweep.

Still on a broken team, 3rd and 4th line consists of only wingers, Shinnimin still out for 2 games and Backlund for 1.

Calgary sweeps Anahiem in the opening round 4-0. Good series Anahiem, Calgary's firepower proved to be too much tho.

Calgary ends with a goals per game of 6.5 in the 1st round and a goals against of 1.75

Looking forward to second round oppenent (looks like it might be EDM)

Chicago would like to congratulate the Coyotes on their first round sweep.

Game 4 was a Goaltending duel, going into overtime knotted at 1.

1min into the first OT period Lupul would score the series clincher

A young Hawks team may head into the offseason dejected after not being able to manufacture a single victory versus the Coyotes, but Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman would share the silver lining in his post game interview, "though our entire organization is disappointed by this early first round exit, we also are quick to point out to our players that this is chapter 1 in a multi chapter book. They will be better for this experience come next seasons opening game puck drop."

3 stars

1. Neuvirth

2. Howard

3. Lupul

Phoenix completes sweep

2-1 final score

The Coyotes organisation is happy to make it this far in a long time.

We would also like to thank the young Hawks for a tight series. You could say it was a battle between two goaltenders and obviously the other one won.

We're excited to face the Nashville Predators in the conference semi-finals.

Is the sim at 4AM?

Disappointed I couldn't watch or sim any of my series, but it's nice to know that Buffalo VS New Jersey went 7 games. Both teams had identical records.

Sounded like a great series. 2 1-0 OT games too.

Congrats to Buffalo on the win!

Looks like my top players did nothing in the first round.

Stafford with 0 points in 7 games.

Engelland with 2 assists in 7 games.

Zajac with 1 goal in 7 games.

Kunitz with 2 goals in 7 games.

Mike Ribeiro was my top player who had 3G 2A for 5 points in 7 games.

Looks like my offensive depth was tested though, since Tlusty and Pesonen have been out for half of the season and stayed out during the playoffs.

Sucks for me, since Tlusty would have been back after 3 games in Round 2. Pesonen would have been back in 6 games.

My 3rd pairing D Jarvinen got injured in Game 5 and will be out for another 48 games. Having to replace that 80 overall D with a 77 overall might have played a key factor into losing Game 6 and 7.

Best of luck to Buffalo in Round 2 and possibly onward! You will need a lot of luck to get passed Ottawa.

Game 2

Scoreless first, although the first 7 minutes was completely bizarre. It started exactly the same as the first game, right down to the smallest details. Same plays, same penalties, same highright reel saves on the same shooters taking the same shots, etc. EXACTLY the same ... Fortunately, the rest of the period was unique.

Second period filled with scoring. Halischuk, Erat, and Thornton all score for NSH to give them a 3-0 lead, but PHX once again comes back with goals from Lane and Rene Bourque to get it to within 1 going into the finale.

Cogliano with an own goal. Halischuk gets credit. 4-2 NSH

4-2 NSH Final, Series tied 1-1 heading to Glendale

3 Stars:

  1. Matthew Halischuk (2 goals, 1 assist)

  2. Pekka Rinne (31 saves)

  3. Joe Thornton (1 goal)

Game 3 shifts to Arizona with the series tied at 1.

Mikael Backlund and Brendan Shinnimin return to the lineup after being away for too long.

Heading into the first intermission with Nashville up 1-0.

Shots favor Phoenix 9-8.

Period 2

Mikael Backlund contributes and scores a beauty to make it 1-1, 15 minutes left in the second.

Shinnimin gets a slashing penalty, Nashville starts the powerplay well, but Howard stops their attempts with great saves.

The game is tied after second, shots 21-18 for Phoenix.

Period 3

Pretty much coast-to-coast for the first 10.

Gervais scores with 7.35 minutes left to play, 2-1 NSH.

Shalla scores to make it 3-1 with 30 seconds left.

Predators win game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Shots 28-30 for PHX.

Three Stars:

1. Pekka Rinne, 1.00 GAA, .966 SV%.

2. Michael Latta, 2 aseista.

3. Whoever scored the GWG, missed it due to PS3 shutdown.
