I got Edmonton's go ahead to start. Ryan O'Reilly sneaks a bad one past Schneider to open the scoring, but Van Riemsdyk batted a pass out of the air and ended up sniping Campbell. Pacioretty scores with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd for a 2-1 Colorado lead going into the 3rd. Rutkowski puts a big slapper top corner to give Colorado a 2 goal lead with 15 minutes left, but can Campbell hold on? He's faced 35 shots already. JVR scores with 2;34 left in regulation to make it a 1 goal game. Captain Toews gets too aggressive, and EDM will get a Power Play with 1:38 left. Zach Smith drops some knowledge into the empty net and Colorado will take Game 1.

3 Stars

Jack Campbell - 43 of 45, .956 SV%

Max Pacioretty - 1G, 2A

James Van Riemsdyk - 2G

Puck dropping on Game 2 in the Pepsi Center now - and it's Heritage Night, for some awful reason. WHA? I guess that makes sense. More than half way thru the first and both goalies have had to be at their best, but no scoring as of yet. Highlight of the Night style save on Boedker by Schneider. No scoring after 1, shots are 12-10 in the Oilers favor. Seguin gets the stick high on Elliott and Colorado has the games first PP. A few big chances but no conversion. Schneider is on his game tonight. Boedker robbed again, and that line with Longpre and Bailey is really scaring Edmonton. After a stellar defensive play by Siemens to save a goal on a 2 on 1, Colorado opens the scoring as Bailey and Boedker set up Faulk moving into the slot. 1-0 Colorado, 4 minutes left. Soutu is taken down on a breakaway with 9 seconds left.... and ... he is stoned by Campbell on the penalty shot. Time runs out on the second and the Oilers are 20 minutes away from going home down 2 games to 0. Shots are 25-18 in favor of Colorado. Edmonton is coming strong in the 3rd and dominating the possession game. 9m remaining. With 6:52 remaining, Kevin Klein... threw the puck in his own net. He was also the guy who took down Soutu for the penalty shot. He may not play next game. And with 3:42 remaining, Van Riemsdyk picks up a Byfuglien rebound to score the hardest goal to type so far. 2-1 Edmonton and that's the way it stays.

Huberdeau's wide open one knee clapper in the slot is denied by Miller!

4th line grinder who is usually a scratch Torrey Mitchell opens the scoring with 9:43 left in first. That's his 2nd in as many games!

1-0 FLA

Nick Foligno ties it up with 3:07 left in 1st

1-1

Buffalo wins game 3 in overtime 2-1

Puck is about to drop on Game 3. After a shockingly poor Game 2 in Colorado, Kevin Klein will sit in the press box, and 3rd line defensive specialist Tyler Graovac will sub in on the line in a pairing with Faulk. Hoffman comes up to take Gravacs old position and other than that, no changes on either side. 5 minutes in, no scoring and Boedker takes an unnecessary charging penalty. Jacques Bernier, whoever that is, scores on the PP to make it 1-0. Seguin makes it 2-0 in what was an otherwise boring 2nd. 2-0 EDM going into the 3rd. Hall buries one into the empty net and Edmonton will take a 2-1 series lead.

Rutkowski is out the remainder of the series, will Colorado be able to forge on with not only Graovac in the back end, but also the awful Kevin Klein. Let's see. Josh Bailey opens up the scoring quick, from Longpre and Smith. 1-0 Colorado in the 1st. Bailey feeds it back to Elliott at the point to make it 2-0 Colorado at the end of the 2nd. Shots 10 apiece. Ran to the store, but Klimchuk scored, and it's 2-1 going into the 3rd now. Hall tips a Burns point shot to tie it early in the 3rd. No real action for the rest, back and forth pace, but Edmonton takes a penalty with 5 minutes left and Justin Faulk converts on a bad Gardiner clearing attempt. Just over 4 left to go in Game 4, and the Avs are up 3-2. Edmonton manages 21 shots in the 3rd, but can't beat Campbell again. It's a tied series, folks!
