It has been reported that a dispute at the Lone Star College outside Houston, Texas between two person escalated into a gunfight with two bystanders wounded in the crossfire and one gunfighter wounded. A fourth person reportedly suffered a heart attack.

The school’s official Twitter feed said the shooting was between two people and that the situation was under control. It had issued an alert on its website earlier, telling students and faculty to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus. Also that the LSC-North Harris campus has been evacuated and is now closed for the remainder of the day.

Both gunfighters have been taken into custody CNN affiliates KHOU and KTRK report.

An unidentified Lone Star College student who says she witnessed some of the shooting told CNN affiliate KHOU that an argument between two people preceded the gunfire.

A gunman, she said, told someone: "I don't want to fight you; I'm not trying to go to jail."

The witness appeared to reference only one gunman; it wasn't clear whether she saw a second gunman. She said he "actually turned away from the situation" at first but eventually pulled a gun out of a backpack. She said she heard about nine shots.

"I think it was a bunch of crap that could've been resolved and never should have gone that far," the witness said.

TIME news feed reports the Lone Star College campuses ban guns of any sort, along with many other weapons, according to the college’s Student Code of Conduct. The shooters in this incident would have been in violation of campus policy by bringing their firearms onto the campus.

To err is human - but to really screw up you need a computer.

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.

What are they doing with guns there? Didn't they know that guns were banned on campus?

The situation would have been obviously better if all the bystanders were armed.

They couldn't be. Guns were banned on campus, so this headline must have been mistaken.. since we know criminals follow the law and thus would adhere to a gun ban.
