-Vintage Canuck- Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 Capitals’ Erskine given three-game ban for elbowing Flyers’ Simmonds: NEW YORK -- Washington Capitals defenseman John Erskine has been suspended for three games for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds in NHL Game No. 101 in Washington on Friday, February 1, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Erskine will forfeit $24,324.33. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. The incident occurred at 18:09 of the first period.
