The Kessing Booth line
To Van- Patrick Marleau, Jason Demers To SJ- Roberto Luongo, Mason Raymond Van gets a top 6 winger with great playmaking ability to play with Kesler + Booth or RW with the Sedins, and a desperately needed right side D who can play in our top 6. SJ gets the elite goalie that they've really never had. Also they get Raymond who's having a good year and could play in their top 6. They are very deep on D so they can deal with the loss of Demers. Trade Niemi for a FW that can together with Raymond compensate for loss of Marleau. Thoughts?

allkill326
San Jose's not trading Marleau, especially if he has been the mainstay of the team. Also, their goaltending has been quite good, so I don't see why they would try and acquire Luongo.

missioncanucksfan
My wish list would start with Clowe and end with Boyle. Crash n bang winger and a RH defender. Clowe-Kesler-Higgins Edler-Boyle
bossram
I'd do Weise for Demers. San Jose needs forward depth and Weise is underrated defensively. We need right-handed defenseman (and San Jose has a glut of defensemen, Demers a healthy scratch regularly).
Dr.Awesome
Surely the leading Vezina trophy candidate is a massive upgrade on Antii Niemi?

Xur
We would be idiots to trade MayRay + Luongo for that. Luongo alone is worth that and Raymond is a top notch winger that has a tiny salary cap. Dollars for Doughnuts Raymond is one of the best valued players in the league. Of course Marleau is an amazing player who is worth more then Raymond, but not so much as to justify throwing in Lu. Maybe a Raymond + Schroeder + Luongo for Marleau + Clowe + Picks or Demers (personally don't think Demers is a good fit here).
Canuck Surfer
I would like to introduce you to Patrick Marleau, Sharks all time leading scorer and fan favourite. ; owner of 6 30 goal seasons in the last 7 years. And he had back to back 28 goal seasons prior to that. Plays centre / right wing, 220 lbs (gosh that sounds perfect) . By my beer impacted addition, some 321 goals the last 10 years; I'm guessing that might be the most goals in the league in that span? In perspective, he would be our all time leader in points and goals ahead of Nazzy/Hank by a fair margin! Plus he has more than double the goals of any Canuck this year, on track for 30 goals in a 48 game season. He;s playing great! Why on earth would San Jose trade Marleau, still just 33??? And who here wonders why we would get so little for Lou?
forklift_ole
You realize that Marleau is San Jose's Linden right? You also realize that Niemi is 7-4 with a 1.96 goals against average and a .931 save percentage right? Oh, and his name on the Stanley Cup. Why would San Jose ever do this trade? If the Canucks wanted Marleau it wouldn't be for anything less than Kesler, Edler, and a prospect or a pick, that's what it takes to get a fan favorite and team captain. The Kessing Booth line
So a Vezina candidate and 20 goal scorer(shortened season) doesn't do it? Btw Kesler + Edler would be massive overpayment for Marleau.
