Kassian is a young kid, who is playing with............Lapierre on the 4th line. OF COURSE there is only so much he can do. When he was with the twins, he got points. Put him with 4 liners, no points.
It seems to take half a decade to crack into AV's "favourites". No, he should not be on first line all the time, but cut the kid some slack...........no offence to Lapierre, but what has he done lately? Kassian will never flourish with linemates with no points yet.....
Lappy has 4 points, 21 shots, leads the team by far in hits with 51, has blocked 7 shots (putting him in a 3-way tie for second most), has won 51.2% of his faceoffs and averages over 19 minutes a game. I like Kass too, but that's no need to dis Lappy. He does exactly what we need him to and he does it well.
Kass seems as sweet and earnest as the day is long, but he's not the sharpest crayon in the box. He sometimes seems confused without specific direction. As he grows, continues to learn and builds confidence (which is obviously easily shaken at this point) he'll be fine. We just need to wait and see instead of assuming we know what kind of player he can be consistently because right now we don't.
