*Buzzsaw* Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 All you have to do is watch the Kings/Blues series to see motivated players who have jump and desire. Night and day compared to the way the Canucks are playing now. Both of these teams remind me of the Canucks in 2011. Canucks need to re-capture that fire in the gut if they are going to have a chance to advance. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
The Magician Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Pretty much the same as the Canucks. Not high scoring, lots of hits by the home team, only thing diffrent is the special teams and how unlucky Johnny Quick has been Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~Fin~~~ Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Johnny Quick had a Dan-Cloutier-moment-when-Lidstrom-from-Red-Wings-scored-from-mid-rink-calibre disappointment..... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
EvoLu7ioN Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 They are also two teams who were red hot coming into the playoffs on a roll, much like the Sharks. Vancouver is capable of playing at that level too, just need to find and capitalize on that moment that brings us out of our funk and into a confident team imposing our will and style of play on the other team. We need to force the Sharks to react and adapt to us, not the other way around. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SNACanuck Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Blues are getting rough and tumble and not letting up on the Kings. Good for them, if they have a good run and knock the Kings out so be it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
etsen3 Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I think the Canucks actually have heart and desire. Too often people tend to overgeneralize things. When a team is losing they simply put it down to "no heart". Sometimes you really want to win and try your best but you come up short. Every team out there is playing hard right now. Usually what looks like "heart" is really confidence. I think that's what the Canucks are really lacking right now especially with the puck. I keep saying this but the 2011 team played like they were unstoppable and they went into every game fully expecting that they would win the game for sure. Not so this year. EvoLu7ioN Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 This assumes both we and the Kings make it past the first round... which for the Kings is becoming less likely considering they have 2 straight losses(i smell a sweep, cross my fingers). SNACanuck Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I meant to type the Sharks. The Kings still aggravate me subconsciously haha. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kryten Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 So far games 1 and 2 have been IMO the best two games of the playoffs so far. Great hockey. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
