asian player Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Don't need hindsight to realize the Kessel trade was brutal. I never truly understand what they're trying to accomplish. They're never legit contenders, they don't have a winning environment, they don't have an overwhelming prospects pool, and they're never on a legit rebuild. They will never win with Phaneuf, especially at that price. Any team built around Kessel will never win. The Clarkson deal was just plain stupid. And year after year, they replace their tweeners with other tweeners. I hate the leafs but at this point, I just feel bad for their fans. This is frustrating to watch.
