Need some help here guys. With Gordon slated to miss multiple drives tonight should I start him or hogan.

I'm 9 pts behind so this is critical

Gordon 100%. I picked up Hogan at the start of the season thinking he would be the #1 for the first four weeks without Edelman and he hasn't produced at all. Granted, we were off to a usual slow start but I had at least hoped he would've been the #1 target and shift to the slot

  2. I don't think we'll be getting another good Thursday nighter until Week 10. Panthers and Steelers.... Although if Brock stays healthy, next week could be fun to see him go up against his old team that dumped him.

Kind of depends on the when?  I think the most difficult places to play on the road depend on the cycle the home team is in.  Currently the Patriots are on a great up cycle, because of Brady.  before him, though, they were not good at all.  The Sea-hawks had a great home record for a few years a while back.  Now they aren't that great a team, so it's a lot easier to win in Seattle for the visiting teams.

Maybe we need to take the last 40 years to get the best gauge?   Then I might have Oakland up there with Pittsburgh and Dallas.  I definitely wouldn't have New England and Seattle.

I'd say currently. Probably within the the last 2 decades.

@Tre Mac Mile High and Arrowhead are pretty loud too. Maybe not Guinness World Record setting but it's pretty close

I also don't like walking behind someone who smokes cigarettes. Those things are disgusting. My easy fix for this problem is to walk in front of them. lol

Same. That's what I meant. Cigarettes. I try to rush pass them and try to give a dirty look when I pass.

  5. In your opinion, what's the toughest stadium for a visiting team to play in and walk out of with a win?

There are a few that come to mind like Gillette, Century Link, Arrowhead, and Mile High.

  6. I doubt this will ever happen but as long as people don't smoke weed while walking, I'm ok with it. My biggest pet peeve with smokers is when they smoke and walk at the same time. The second hand smoke when walking behind them is infuriating but there's nothing I can do about it.

I don't even want to think about it. Makes me sick.  Worst game I've seen them play and they've played some bad games in recent years.  Really thought they'd come out with a good effort after laying an egg against Buffalo last week.

Worse than the 59-0 blowout in New England in the snow in 2009?

Wembley looked a quarter full. Travel all that way for what again? Vancouver can't get an exhibition game, let alone regular season game.

Wembley can also seat/host almost 100,000 people at maximum capacity and there's only so many American football fans that London has. Per Wikipedia, they can seat 86,000 for American football.

It's like sending two cricket teams from India to play a regular season game in Los Angeles or New York. Do you really expect the stadium to be filled for a sport nobody on this side of the world watches?

Patriots have always been a bend but don't break defence the last 4 years. So to me it's not a surprise or a concern they are always harder to beat on 3rd down and the red zone.

The d always gets better as the season progresses too. Last year they finished as a top 5 d in points against IIRC.

When the offence can outscore your problems it really doesn't matter with Edelman and Gronkowski and now Gordon. Then you have Sony Michel emerging too and still have James White. Plenty of weapons for Brady.

Not to mention Hogan, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Phillip Dorsett in that system are useful role players.

That was under Patricia. New defensive scheme in place, new backs. At least we have some sort of pass rush as opposed to the previous years under Patricia but with that, we're giving up too many chunk plays. With KC coming into town, that can't happen.

Other than the Patriots every team has glaring holes including the Rams and Chiefs. It's crazy right now.

Trust me, Pats have holes. We still can't stop the pass and if you watched the Jacksonville game, we can't get off the field on 3rd downs. Offence might be fine now but we have a lot of work to do on defense. Sunday night will either be a shootout between Mahomes and Brady or that'll be the game our D finally shows up and stops Mahomes from having a 300+ passing day.

Also, I have no idea why the Seahawks called a timeout when it was 4th & 1 with the Rams punting. Could the Rams have run a fake? Probably. But why take them off the hook and rethink about what they wanted to do by calling your final timeout? Imo, that gave the Rams enough time to say, "yea let's go for a QB sneak and win the game" instead of, let's just punt it and hope our D stands.

And in most instances I think that's fine. The ultimate goal is to stop a team getting yardage. But there are times when a rugby style tackle would just be more effective.

Sometimes you see attempts that just look half arsed as well.

I don't understand the concept of leading with your shoulder for a tackle. It's ineffective and I see it every week. It's like these guys forgot how to tackle after playing college football

As someone who played a fair a bit of rugby I can't help but laugh at how pathetic some of the tackle attempts are in this league.

In high school when I played football, we were taught to look at the chest and drive through the chest and wrap our arms around the body to wrap the guy up. Of course that was a decade ago so it may have changed but that was the way were taught to do a clean tackle.

I won't. I enjoy watching the demise of the Colts after all the BS they cause. 7 in a row, soon to be 8 straight over them. Hope it's a blow out.

Side note : put a $100 prop bet on Gordon to score a TD + 50 yards tonight. Pays out 650. Hope the flash comes out tonight:ph34r:

I mean, I watched the entire game too but I was more or less for the average audience.

Also, nice bet. He hit 50 on the dot. I need some of your betting luck and skills for some quick cash lol

Colts vs Patriots is a bad game unless you are a Patriots fan.

Most people will watch until the first half just to see Edelman back. After that, people will probably switch if it's a blowout

    Not next year, 2020.

I saw them in Seattle in 2012, and in 2016 they came to New England.

In the NFL, you play 1 division from the other conference every year --> We play NFC West every 4 years, alternating home and away.

Oh. I read that as "next season" for some reason. Hopefully Tommy's still up and motivated to play.

My 3rd trip there! All been very memorable games. Luckily they'll be coming back to Seattle the season after next, with TB12 hopefully still playing.

I still want to visit Lambeau for a game.

100% confirmed Pats play in Seattle next year? I'm not familiar with how the NFL formulates their schedule but if it is confirmed and TB12 is still playing, I'm definitely doing a road trip.

Was at Gillette for the game yesterday - couple of the pics I took.

Beautiful. One of my things to do in my bucket list is to watch a game at Gillette stadium with Brady playing but I definitely don't see that happening within the next 5 years.

We should ******* burn down University of Phoenix Stadium. It is a horrible place

I agree. I wish we don't have another Super Bowl hosted there. My heart can't take any more miraculous once in a lifetime catches.

  19. Patriots finally looking like their usual self. D finally came to play. Edelman is back next week and that's when the fun begins. Gordon looking really impressive too although Hogan has been underwhelming so far. Not enough targets going his way early this season but with Edelman back and now Gordon in the fold, hopefully he's given more 1 on 1 coverage and given more favourable matchups down the line
