  1. Have a feeling Lamar Jackson will snagged either at 16 with Baltimore, 17 with the Chargers, or 23 with the Pats in terms of teams needing a potential starting/franchise QB... That's of course unless the Bills don't make any moves and just pick him up with the 12 and 22

I was at the last draft in Vancouver and although I don't remember the exact details, tickets were ~$20 and I don't think it was sold out.

I wouldn't fret too much about not being able to get tickets.

If anything, it'll most likely be set up like it would normally be for a concert for the floor and probably limit the amount of sections available for upper bowl... Lower bowl will be packed for sure although I'm not certain if tickets to the NHL draft will be a hot commodity in a fair weather market like Vancouver.

I don't even think Minnesota sold out when they hosted IIRC

It would be good but how would that work for Weeks 2-4? Why would a team have a bye that early.

I haven't put too much thought into it but its just something I read awhile back. I'm sure if the NFL were to consider that, they would somehow make it work.. Besides, I think the season opener starts on a Thursday night anyways, or at least it did last year

Thursday night games are majority ass. Players don't like them as they are tired and not full recovered from the  last game. Excess wear and tear which leads to more major injuries like what happened to Richard Sherman who calls them a "poopfest" and believes they should be outlawed if the NFL truly cares about player safety vs ratings and money.

There was a suggestion that offered to have teams that play Thursday night have a bye week prior so that teams aren't forced to have a short week

Meh. He is a tall slot only wr who doesn't play big or physical really.

Watched him with Eagles always thought dude was overrated a bit by fans actually.

Needs to be in the slot to win consistently. Hands are not great and leaves some meat on the bone on YAC plays. If they play him as a matchup guy to spell Edelman or another slot guy then he will work as a #4 or #5 option behind Gronkowski,Edelman,Hogan, Mitchell, etc.

Patriot system will automatically help him though. He went to Vandy and has good work habits so he should be able to learn the complex playbook they have.

Basically an Amendola replacement I suppose. We'll know how well he will play if he gets a spot and will know how he will be used come training camp and preseason

I could see that, but IMO there's no way the Browns risk taking a QB at 1st and hope Barkley is still there at 4, as I could see the Giants taking Barkley since they need a franchise RB too. I think they'll take Barkley 1st then they take whoever is available between Rosen/Allen/Darnold/Mayfield.

Giants need anything right now except for WR. They were such a terrible team last year I was shocked how a team could fall so low into the standings after coming off a great year with McAdoo's first year as a coach.

Why would it force Browns to take Barkley at #1? If anything I think it allows them to take Barkley at 4 now.

Seems like the 1st 3 picks will be QB's now.

There's two ways to look at it here... It's either Barkley #1 no questions asked and the Browns get their pick of the QB... Or the Browns pick up the best QB in their eyes, and knowing that both NY teams need a QB, they allow Barkley to fall to #4.

However, there's still a lot of time until the draft. Who knows which team will call up the Giants and ask for the #2 overall and pull a move to snag Barkley if the Browns don't draft Barkley #1.

Are you sure Gillislee will even be on the opening day roster?  Burkhead was better in the red zone (except for week 1 when Gillislee got 3 TD's) and Gillislee wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with his north/south attempts.

Gillislee should be ok. I mean... He just got overworked and overshadowed by a full backfield in Lewis, White, and Burkhead who outworked him. With Lewis gone, it'll just give more touches to White and Burkhead (who signed an extension).. Should mean Gillislee that much hungrier considering he didn't have the greatest of years in his first year with the Pats and especially if he wants to be the guy who does the heavy lifting in terms of running and pounding the ball

Dion Lewis to sign in tennessee.

That one might hurt. Although that just means an increased role for White, Burkhead, and Gillislee..

Reportedly Jordy Nelson eyeing the Patriots after being released by the Pack.

  10. This NFL offseason shaping up to be one of the more exciting ones in recent years... Don't sleep on the Browns... If they make the right moves at the draft, I think they can challenge to at least finish in 2nd in their division right behind the Steelers

  11. 4 hours ago, SabreFan1 said:

He got that amount because he was able to prove himself to a QB needy team.  Had the Pats convinced him to stay, he would have made much less.

He was traded for a 2nd round pick because Belichick was angry about being told he had to get rid of him and he's friends with the Shanahan family.  They had only months previous turned away much better offers for him.  Including a Cleveland offer 2 days prior that was said to feature at least one of their 1st round picks.  Most likely their own which turned out to be this years top pick.  If Belichick traded with Cleveland, he'd have his pick of the litter with this year's big 4 QB's.  Had he gotten them to give up both picks (doubtful, but it is Cleveland after all), he could have 2 of the 4 if he wanted to keep the best one and trade away the second for 2019 draft picks after camp.

Had the Pats won the Superbowl, I think there's a chance that Belichick would have headed to the NYG for the last few years of his career.  I don't think that he liked being told that he had to get rid of the QB that he wanted to be his parting legacy with the Patriots.  So instead of setting Kraft up for the future, he gave him a shot in the ribs by taking a weak return in the trade instead of taking an offer that would have netted him a top QB in this year's draft.

Interesting theory. I'd go bananas if we had the Browns #1 overall pick and would look to hope that we draft Barkley.

I agree with taking Saquon #1. Special player. I would not touch either of the QB's you listed with a 10 foot pole however, horrible attitudes and scream of character issues. As for Lamar, fantastic athlete with a great arm. Makes poor decisions when running the ball and doesn't have the Cam Newton esque body that can sustain hits like that in the NFL. Gets trigger happy in the pocket and doesn't have the touch on his throws that every other major QB in the class has.

Yea. What I've read is Saquon is like another Zeke or Fournette. Polarizing franchise RB. And unless the Browns are willing to pay Cousins big money and paying one or two receivers from free agency this year, they need a quarterback. I think Kizer needs more seasoning or a vet to teach him more of the game but if Cousins is available, the Browns should just throw big money at him.

  13. 1 hour ago, ReggieBush said:

Who should they draft? Curious to see if we are in agreement

I think they definitely have to draft Saquon Barkley first overall. I don't watch many college football but I've watched a few highlights of him and other top 10 ranked prospects and he definitely wows me. At the #4, either Josh Rosen or Baker Mayfield.. Can't miss either or..

I'm really stoked about Lamar Jackson though. His stats are phenomenal and my coworker is crazy for him. His numbers are unheard of

  14. I'm very much looking forward to what the Browns and 49ers will be doing this offseason. Especially the Browns. If they draft who I think they should draft, they'll have a monster year.

Thinking they'll have a chance at finishing with more than 5 wins this year and go 9-7 at best.

You Patriot fans are such hypocrites none bigger than @NucksPatsFan who doesn't have the balls to even address me. Just because I called pretty boy and his weird family out.

Said I would probably complain about Patriots cheating and was having my excuses ready when I layed out the cheating history. Only people with excuses are Patriots fans all over this thread.

Every major analyst was picking the Patriots before this game go back and look.  Ever since Foles went down everyone thought Eagles would be 1 and done. They proved everyone wrong including me and I can admit that.

You were already bailed out by calls vs the Jets and Steelers and probably should have lost to the Jags if not for a weak PI call on Bouye. So shut up and take your loss.

I thought it was 50/50 and when it's that close you go with the call on the field. The Ertz one was obvious don't why Collingstworth questioned it Ertz took 2 full steps not like Jesse James.

Like Chris Long said under dogs in 2 home games. Then started as 6 point underdogs in the Super Bowl week and won by 8 points.

Stop with the bs your are not underdogs had a backup qb lost the MVP and 2 Hall of Fame players Jason Peters and Darren Sproles the best LB on the team who is a rising star in Jordan Hicks.

Are you sure the Eagles won? Sounds like you're still whining and complaining despite your team winning. And you do know there was a post in this thread prior to the SB starting that multiple analysts had picked the Eagles winning so not every major analyst picked the Pats.

Honestly, I don't know why you're telling me to shut up and take the loss. I already did and haven't said a word about the calls about the game aside from the Clements TD. I'm losing with humility whereas you're continuing to beat a dead horse that's been dead since 2007. There are excuses made by all fanbases in this thread so the fact that you're pinpointing it on Pats fans is hysterical.

I also don't know why Collinsworth was questioning Ertz TD. Was a clear TD the moment they showed the replay. Either we were bailed out or not, both times New York made the decision to overturn the TDs against the Jets and Steelers. If it was any other team, nobody bats an eye but because its the Patriots, everyone just likes to put more focus on it.

And I also don't think I'm bsing or saying the Pats were the underdogs? If anything, this game was evenly matched when you look at it. Just the media likes to put a narrative to the big game so of course there needs to be an underdog somehow.

Pathetic for exposing the Patriots and saying Tom Brady and his family is weird with the kissing thing? I only brought it up because it was in the news with Spags bringing up stealing defensive signals in that last Super Bowl and I that doesn't matter now thanks to the Eagles winning this is sweet revenge.

Also Eagles just put up 30 points on the #1 d in the Vikings 2 weeks ago. So putting 41 on the Patriots d just shows their creative offence and excellent play calling.

Your :goat: coach and :goat: QB lost to a Head coach who was coaching high school football and a backup qb who almost quit the game 2 years ago.

Nobody's D had a great game and it showed with 1000+ total yards combined in this game. Patriots couldn't make the plays we needed to on 3rd down and that was a key difference.

Well Butler is an idiot then.  Everyone is flipping out on BB but if that is true he made the right call.  Butler let the team down with his actions not Belichick's coaching decision.  Wonder what'll happen with Butler and Hightower(who liked Browner's 'locker room divided' post) in the offseason.

Hightower's coming back. I can't imagine BB letting our best player on D go for nothing.

Did you win? That'd be a nice payout if that happened.

EDIT: nvm you did win... congrats!

  16. Probably one of the only things I'll be looking forward to this off-season is the rule change regarding what is and isn't a catch. The rule needs to be expanded so that it covers all aspects of what defines a catch rather than the current one in place now

Typical Patriots crying. I knew you guys have been so spoiled to being on the right side at the end now you taste what it feels like.

    Respect us.

Yet you've been crying all year long about calls that went the Patriots way. The Clements TD was not a catch going by the standards the league has been setting the entire year.

I don't think anyone didn't respect the Eagles coming into the game so stop acting like the Eagles were shown no respect from anyone.

My fellow Patsies, just remember we were without Edelman Hightower Cooks and Butler tonight. It'l

Butler was benched for "coaching reasons". Sure could've had him out there to at least stop a couple of key 3rd downs when we needed him most considering he is a great open field tackler
