  1. Also kudos to Nick Foles. A guy known as a career back up, one of the better back ups in the league who can be a starter on some teams, almost retires due to losing interest and love for the game, comes back to Philly to lead them to the Super Bowl win and winning Super Bowl MVP

  2. Great game from both teams. Our defence lost us this one. Couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. Butler being benched entire game could've helped stop a couple of 3rd downs with open field tackles..

The Super Bowl will be decided by the team with the best defense today.  Philadelphia has a better defense but New England is no slouch in that department either.

When it comes to offensive,  NE has a wide edge with a superior QB in Brady and his favourite receiver, Gronkowski.   Foles, while a capable backup, is certainly no future Hall of Fame quarterback.

So, the only chance for the Eagles to win is to stop Tom Brady the way Denver Broncos did with NE a few years ago when they beat NE in the SB.

The game need to be a low scoring effort for the Eagles to win, otherwise the high powered offense of NE will overwhelm Philly.

I expect the game to be decided by less than 10 points, whoever wins the game.

Not possible when both teams are in the same conference. I'm thinking you're thinking about the AFC Conference game the year the Broncos won the SB?

Brady as a grown man kissing his mom and dad and probably siblings on the lips is just wrong I'm sorry.

Please don't ever reproduce. If you do, I hope you don't kiss your kid(s) on the lips or else you'll be the biggest hyprocrite I've ever known.

But enough talk about this let's about the fact the Patriots are cheating again only now resulting in bribing salty Minnesota restaurants and eateries to get the Eagles team sick.

I'm so close to blocking out your posts it's not even funny. These past two weeks have shown your true character. You're the type of person who talks football and will always have to relate it to how the Patriots cheat.

You are right about Saturday my mistake. Bruschi and Moss though plus I'm sure there are others.

The fact of bringing this up now is that it is concerning how much they cheated. Like I said the only one who knows how much the stealing signs from other teams has helped the Patriots, only Belichick knows.

I disagree if you know what's coming it's a huge advantage of being able to prepare for it and yes execute against it.

The Malcom Butler thing I believe they were legit prepared for.

But a brand new redzone play that the Rams had never run and it wasn't even on film?! Like Matz said he was stunned and to this day felt cheated.

I am not mad at the Patriots being prepared for what a team has put out on gametape.

I'm talking about knowing the thought process behind a team and what they are trying to do to attack you by unfair tactics stealing signals, playbooks, playsheets, taping practices or walkthroughs signing players from a team you are going to play and having them diagram their plays or give Intel.

This all stuff the Patriots have done in the past but never admitted to this day from Belichick or Kraft.

What else they do since that we will never know. Is is simply great analysis via analytics and coaching at half time? Or is there a reason the Patriots never start fast and play much better after they have that halftime?

Despite knowing whats coming, as mentioned before, the players are the one executing it. Not the coaches. So if the an audible is made to adjust to neutralize the scheme/play, whats the point if a player can't make the necessary catch/yards needed. Same as putting pressure on a zone when you know where the ball is going. Players make the plays, which lead the franchise to success.

Maybe it's all hearsay as to whether or not a brand new red zone play that was never filmed or executed on film was greatly countered. Maybe it's just great football IQ from the coaches and the players to recognize the situation they're in and what kind of play would happen and go against what the obvious play would be. Besides, Spygate started because the Pats were caught filming from somewhere where they weren't suppose to. You going to tell me that the other 31 teams in the league also didn't film other team's practices?

Half time adjustments is all part of the game. Why do teams start out hot then crack under pressure and can't finish the game? Look at the Titans-Chiefs playoff game three weeks ago. Chiefs dominated the first half yet the Titans stormed back and won the game. You gonna tell me that they are also cheaters and they should be looked into as well?

Brady has a huge ego everything from his TB 12 method his hooky pseudo sports science trainer Alex Guerrero to selling his book to his reality show all about attention and money. This guy cheated on his wife and is part of a cheating organization yet this false idol is what people worship?

Reimers just had the balls to say what everyone who has seen his crappy show thought. Spoiled brat kids.

Whether you believe in his methods or not, he's clearly not showing any signs of slowing down. Year after year, he's putting up MVP numbers and always in the talk of being named MVP despite his age. Why can't other quarterbacks do the same? It's not cool to call out someone's kids like that. Don't go after family members. That's the ultimate sign of disrespect.

Anyone besides Eagles and Pats fans gonna actually watch the game? I've been asking around the last couple days to see what people are doing for the game and pretty much everybody response was I could care less about the game this year. Now I'm sure people will still watch it, but it seems nobody that I know is going out of their way to go to a Super Bowl party.

Pats fan aside, if it wasn't the Patriots in the SB, I'd still watch. Although I'll be watching it in the comfort of my home with a couple of friends

By barely winning I mean every single Super Bowl B&B have been in has come down to a few plays at the end even win or lose. For a team that people think is so vastly superior organization wise in every aspect of preparation and execution to adjusting on the fly mid series. It is amazing how many games come down to a refs call or 1-3 key plays.

Should they not be winning by a more considerable margin then if they have such great game plans and coaching and have 2 so called GoATs?

Also disagree ESPN hating the Patriots considering they have Jeff Saturday and Teddy Bruschi on payroll also Randy Moss who have all played for them.

I'm more surprised how they can adjust to something you have not put on film. Like Martz mentioned in the article how he was perplexed how ready they were for a new redzone play like they knew what was coming.

Also the Eagles ran a d back in that last Super Bowl that they couldn't believe how the Patriots were prepared for it.

That is what makes doubt linger.

I'm not going to debate about pre Spygate SB wins. I don't know the full context of it and the article brings a lot of light into it so we'll just go by what the article says. You do realize that ESPN was the one that started up Deflategate last year right? This article was published Sept 2015 so if they're resurfacing it again to stir up some more controversy, that's ESPN trying to get more clicks for money.

Regardless of how a Super Bowl ends, a win is a win. Doesn't matter what the scoreboard says. Coaches can only do so much to game plan and call out the plays. The players are the ones that makes the plays. Whether or not the Patriots of the past knew what the play or scheme it was going to be, the players are the ones who have to execute it. For all we know, there could have been many plays where we failed to execute yet the Pats knew what to do to counter it. Regardless of what Martz mentioned, that was over a decade ago. Focusing on the now, it's all about football IQ and knowing the situation. Look at the Butler interception. NFL Films covered it pretty in depth on why the Pats succeeded on the SB clinching play.

Also, Jeff Saturday never played for the Patriots by the way. Was basically a Colt for his entire career.

Not really an excuse it's a valid question with the Patriots cheating history since Belichick and his cronies like Ernie Adams got involved. The whole deflategate was mentioned in the article was a makeup call on Spygate because Brady destroyed his phone and Patriots were being shady again. Why act shady and hide evidence unless you are hiding something?

All these years and Goodell made sure the tapes were destroyed. Nobody knows how much they benefitted from those tapes other than Belichick.

Goodell was embarrassed after Spygate that the Patriots were still cheating and it was the second scandal on his watch.

For that reason Brady and Belichick should have an asterisk next to those Super Bowl wins during the Spygate era 2001-2007.

People should be questioning Brady and Belichick's GOAT status instead of just kissing their ass all the time.

To be clear in comparison deflating footballs or putting stickem or Peds are not as big an advantage as knowing the other teams play calls 75% of the time before the snap.

Why do the Patriots barely win Super Bowls? They rely on cheating and refs.

How else are their half time adjustments so much superior to every team in the NFL?

Read the article instead of just the headline about deflategate and try not to be biased.

Brady was told it was ok to destroy his phone after they investigated him saying the phone was no longer needed. THat's the only reason why he destroyed it. Media took it and blew it up to make it sound like he wasn't complying, which he was.

Stick em and PEDS affect the game just as much as knowing the team's play. That's why there are audibles in the game. Only the elite players can identify and read defences/offence and switch the call within seconds of the snap.

I don't know what you mean by barely winning Super Bowls when we've won 5 of the last 16 since Brady has been a starter. As far as I'm concerned, that's quite a few Super Bowls in comparison to other teams who only make it once and don't return to the big game until years later. Cheating or refs aside, any team would love to play in 8 Super Bowls within 15, 16 years whether they win or lose... Unless you're the Bills.

You also do realize that half time adjustments are based on what your team is doing well/poorly at and how the other team is playing. No other team does it better than the Patriots because our coaching staff identifies weaknesses from the opposition in the first half and studies their tendencies and strengths to come out better in the second half.

By the way, I did read the article and while some of it is true, it is ESPN after all and its ESPN fluff as per usual. They hate the Patriots more than anyone and it's pretty clear during the Deflategate scandal.

I am not saying it's all referees it only takes 1 or 2 look at Tim Donaghy in the NBA who admitted to game management and fixing games. Referees getting overly chummy with players especially with the Patriots history is never a good look for fans of the 31 other teams.

Whether one or two refs decides to favour the Patriots is not anybody's problem except the official that chooses to do so. To me, being an official is a pretty tough job considering they get reviewed on a yearly basis by the NFL Officiating committee.

Who is to say the Patriots have not found another way more effective way to cheat? Refs etc.

Patriots for me will always have an asterisk just like the steroid users in MLB. No matter how many rings Belichick and Brady have the organization will always have a good amount of people who doubt the credibility of their wins.

To be honest McNabb puking aside lots of Eagles fans feel like because Spygate was during that time that they were cheated out of a Super Bowl win.

This is a revenge game no mistake about it.

I don't think league referees would risk their jobs and careers to be a part of a whole grand scheme of cheating for the Patriots. You're talking about an entire union of 100+ officials all willing to risk their jobs/careers as an NFL referee to help the Patriots win. Sounds a bit farfetched to me.

Revenge game or not, more or less, it's a revenge game for the fans

Thank the gods. Hopefully Eagles got out healthy and have time to rest the minor bumps and bruises.

Will be fascinating to see how Eagles gameplan to stop Brady and score enough points on Patriots d to win.

Will be a 60 minutes game Eagles have to stay Aggressive all game while being smart and not handing Patriots freebie with turnovers or dumb penalties.

Basically don't play zone all game or he'll torch your D apart. Don't give him time in the pocket or he'll find someone open. Sounds easy but it's not. The combo of Fletcher Cox and Chris Long can create havoc and should be enough in your front 4 to pressure Brady

As much as I hate Patriots fans, Belichick, Brady, their owner you are a pretty reasonable Patriots fan all things considered.

I will enjoy it but the Eagles didn't make it this far just to get to the game. They are trying to make sports history and will not go down without a dogfight!!

Will enjoy everyone gassing up Patriots next 2 weeks. Hopefully this Eagles team continues to feed off being massive underdogs and shocks the world to prove how special they are.

I don't think media will downplay the Eagles as underdogs. The offence is nothing to discredit. I'm just wondering how we're going to shut down Agholor, Jeffery, Smith, and Ertz.. Nevermind the running game of Ajayi and Blount

Do you guys get nervous and stress out before games? Or are you guys like oh well if we lose we already got 5 rings?

I was a nervous wreck before the KC game, last week against the Pats I wasn't as much considering I didn't think we had much of a chance to begin with.

Depends on the team. I was definitely sweating the entire week leading up to this game against the Jags. We're off to another Super Bowl and each Super Bowl victory is always sweeter than the last one.

Bill Belichick on DHK explains how Jaguars defense is so good

On Monday's conference call, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels acknowledged the Jaguars defense will be the best unit the Patriots have faced all season.

    He isn't lying, either.

Jacksonville finished the regular season ranked second in overall defense and second in points allowed, allowing an average of 16.75 points per game. Furthermore, it was outstanding against the pass, allowing an average of 169.9 yards a game, the best in the NFL.

Appearing on Dale & Holley with Keefe on Monday, Bill Belichick explained what makes the Jacksonville defense so good. He noted the unit keeps things simple and doesn't do much in terms of trying to confuse the opposition.

“Yeah, they are very good at the corner position with [Jalen] Ramsey and [A.J.] Bouye and then [Aaron] Colvin comes in the nickel," he said. "They really only play two defenses — a 4-3 and a 4-2-5, the nickel defense with Colvin coming in and [Paul] Posluszny going out. So, they rotate those front guys and they rush well. They are fast. They are active and there’s some big guys, too. Like [Marcell] Dareus and they have some power in there. They don’t do a lot. They aren’t trying to run a thousand different defenses. They do enough to keep you off-balance and change it up, but what they do, they do well. They are aggressive.”

Added Belichick: “They blitz quite a bit, and they like to zone blitz. They bring everybody. They bring secondary players and inside linebackers and outside linebackers. You don’t want to cut one of those guys loose, but I don’t think it’s a major of mystery of, ‘Oh my God, where are they? What defense are they in?’ They don’t care about that. They want to beat you where they need to be and then play aggressively from there. Blocking them and getting away from the defenders is what we talked about, that is going to be a big challenge. We certainly can’t stand there and hold the ball all day. That won’t work. We’re going to have to make some yards running the ball, but that’s easier said than done, too. You have to block them and they have a lot of hard guys to block, and they are fast. It’s hard to get outside. They do a good job."

That's the kind of response you get from BB when you ask him a football related question. He'll go on and on about someone or a team and you'll get to realize how much knowledge he has about the game and the respect he has for everyone involved

  14. Jags going to be tough. Expect Fournette to be limited and BB will force Bortles to make the plays to win a game. Most likely will have another situation on D where we'll have a QB spy majority of the game as we did last night on Mariota

Well we were gonna have to beat New England eventually if we wanted to make it to the Super Bowl, might as well get it out of the way now. Heard Pats by 14 is the opening line which is not surprising. I think 99.8% of the people are gonna pick the Pats to win. If the 2nd half Titans from yesterday's game shows up they can keep this competitive. Again going in with even lower expectations then last nights game, but Any Given Sunday(Saturday).

Good luck @NucksPatsFan @Apple Juice @Tre Mac And whoever else I'm forgetting.

That line is gonna drop the closer it is to Saturday. It definitely won't be that big of a blowout for sure. I'm thinking Patriots will win by one score. Won't be as big of a blowout as it seems. These aren't the Titans of the past in which we obliterated.

Patricia D requires smart versatile linebackers which most teams just don't have. Any GM that did hire him would have to be on the same page as him and know that it will likely be 3+ years before that D starts rounding into shape. I can't even remember the last time NE had a dominate defense. They went into this season with no pass rushers.. they are not going to win anything unless some guys have some big games and pressure the opposing teams QB. Tom Brady is not going to be able to put up 40+ points, which I know he will need to do in order to win if they don't pressure other teams QB.

I still miss Chandler Jones, Jamie Collins, and now recently Rob Ninkovich..

Pats/Steelers game was up and down but the 4th quarter was an absolute thriller. Lot of people saying it should've been a TD but the rule made it pretty clear and video replay clearly showed he was falling while stretching for the goal line so he didn't complete the catch. Also pretty obvious the ball was touching the ground when he broke the plane so was a good call according to the rule but the rule needs to be amended quickly. Steelers had it with the missed INT with less than 3 mins to go or could easily just kick a FG and take your chances in OT.
