Trading Jake is such a bad idea. Thankfully, I expect it’s one that only media types really entertain. I doubt management is considering it, barring some outrageous overpayment offer. At this point, the team has invested so much time, energy, and assets (as in the pick itself) in Virtanen, and it’s highly unlikely they can ever really recoup what they put in. Better to just stay the course and keep working with Jake until he realizes his potential. He’s likely never going to be the top-6 scoring winger they hoped they’d drafted. But he can be a really useful and valuable player still, and of a rare variety that can be a significant impact player in a 3rd line role. Maybe not the result you want from a 6th overall pick, but nonetheless a valuable piece on any roster, and one that not every team has (but that most covet). I still see Jake becoming a key role player on a Cup contending (and winning hopefully) team one day.

I agree, they should keep him because he’s worth nothing.  Worth more to keep him then to give him away for nothing.  He’s worth more to us than a 2nd round pick or another young forward needing a change

10 million for Laine?  No thanks.  I’d much rather have Jake, who is clearly already a solid third line guy, and keep our room and cap structure in good shape.

    I doubt he’s anywhere near 10 million.

Chiropractors for certain thinks more bone related or back.

Physio for sports related injuries or anything that has to do with joint and muscle.

Thats not true at all.   They both treat similar conditions, they just treat them differently, for a different reason, with a different theory.

Physiotherapists are university trained as part of the entire health care team and their practice is largely evidence based on current science.  Chiropractors go to their own school and are largely based on historical evidence and theory.  As time goes on some chiropractors are leaning towards physiotherapy type theories and treatments and some physiotherapists are using chiropractic type techniques in their practice but for a different reason.   There are benefits in both professions and overtime they are getting closer rather than further apart.

The big difference is Physiotherapists are much better at diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries of all body parts as their scanning exam is much more thorough and logical.  If you want an accurate diagnosis, physiotherapists generally do a much better job.

  4. Yes, I agree, but it gives a base for the agent to start at.  Just because someone overpays doesn’t mean someone else will pay it, but realtor’s will still use it as a comparable asking price, then you see which side folds, depend son how much they like the house, or the player, versus how desperate is the player to play or the house needing to be sold

The National Rifle Association (NRA) is more a political lobby than sportsmen's organization. It has spent over $3 million per year since 2013 to keep gun policies in an antiquated state despite the fact that  more Americans have died from gun violence (over 1.5 million) than from all the wars since the Revolution, and now want some form of gun control. A sensible reading of the 2nd Amendment would restrict purchase of equipment designed for mass murder: large clips, military grade semi-and fully automatic rifles, and ammunition for the same, which could be as easily tracked as over-the-counter medication. Yet none of it will be regulated while the NRA effectively controls the GOP. While not a branch of government, the NRA has enormous impact on American life by coercing politicians and voters with money and intimidation, and restricting our safety and public health.

Wow, that isn’t biased at all.

The NRA exists because american’s want the 2nd amendment, not because they control the government. Just like how planned parenthood exists because people want abortions.
