  1. Every single goalie EVER has had bad games. Schneider got pulled in these last play-offs. Is he still good? OF COURSE HE IS. 1 game/1 series/1 season does not define the status of a player. 5 games out of 64, does not make a goalie bad. You are so blind and just here to hate on everything. You are wrong period. Vs Chicago the Canucks are shaky, the Canucks as a whole. Why? I have no clue. It's strange, but it happens. You discredit Luongo FOR EVERY achievement he has had. Yet you tear him apart at every corner you can. He's going to start for team Canada again, its his position to lose. What non-Elite goalie gets invited to play for team Canada? "Any goalie can play behind Canada and look good" Marty couldn't J.Quick has had 2 play-off years +3 GAA, yet you still consider him Elite. J.Quick has had 1 outstanding season and 2 outstanding play-off runs. J.Quick has had 1 Vezina nod and Conn Smythe. Lu has had 2 play-off years +3GAA and has had 1 outstanding play-off run, and 1 outstanding and at the same time shaky play-off run. Lu has had a couple Vezina nods and I don't think win or lose he would have won the Conn Smythe. Luongo is also the only goalie to be the most winningest goalie for 2 different franchise and holds MULTIPLE RECORDS. He his 2nd most winning active goalie behind brodeur and since 2010 has a 58% win rate. He is 17th all time for wins, on par to be #3 most winning goalie all time He is on par to be ~5th all time in shutouts He is #3 all time in save% behind hasek and thomas respectively (300 GP to qualify) He is on par to be the 3rd goalie ever to play 1000 games. So for you to say he is not an elite goal tender is just plain Stupid.
  2. 1st of all, We ran into the Chicago Blackhawks who steamrolled everybody and that wasn't just Lu's bad play, that was the whole teams bad play... Whenever the Canucks win, they win, whenever they lose, It's just blamed on Lu... That is your point of view. You realize that every even strength goal is avoidable defensively right?
  3. Sorry Lu had 4 bad games. 2 in the 1st round and 2 in the 4th. I still feel that game 6 and 7 were bad games defensively and that is my opinion, I could be wrong. But some of the goals scored by Boston could have been avoided defensively.
  4. Once again... 24 PPs in 4 games will do that or did you even watch the series? And keep picking at the play-off stats like regular season doesn't matter. He had poor season stats, and that matters and still proves my point. You are pointless to debate with, as you have 0 clue what you are talking about. At least Kiwi isn't blind hating like you are.
  5. I already showed that almost every goalie, elite or not have their stats dip after a cup run.
  6. Lu had 3 bad play-off games in 10-11 0 in 11-12 0 in 12-13 The Canucks had 5 bad play-off games in 10-11 (4 in the SCFs) 3 in 11-12 4 in 12-13 (Refs helped that)
  7. Lu can't really get decent numbers when he's on the bench can he? Schneids faltered at the beginning of the season and allowed Lu to vie for the position up until that Detriot game. Also, I don't know what series you were watching... But aside from Kesler, Luongo was the only good player on the ice. Lu played his ass off in that SJS series, those stats do not tell the story of that series goal tending wise. It's hard to post good stats when your team is always killing a power-play. For spending over 50minutes on the PP over 4 games, he posted some good stats.
  8. Both goalies before and after they played for the cup. Quick Before .929% 1.95 After .909% 2.45 Luongo Before .928% 2.11 After .919% 2.41 But 1 year doesn't dictate anything to anyone unless they are bandwagoners Both Goalies life times. Lu GAA 2.52 .919 SV% (Remember Lu had the fun of playing for the Panthers for 5 seasons) Quick GAA 2.32 .915 SV% (Quick plays for one of the stingiest defensive teams in the league)
  9. Nope, all you did was cross out what I said at the end.. Luongo is the 2nd most winning active goalie. He has a 58% win ratio. Find me another goalie with those stats. He's elite and you're a bandwagoner. I heard the Devils just picked up a good goalie go to their forums.
  10. My point isn't Quick is bad and Lu is good.,.. I believe Quick is the #2 Goalie in the NHL. But EVERY good goalie had his dips... Look at Brodies stats... You have used 1 year and 1 shortened season to say Luongo is no longer capable of winning a cup. It's ridiculous.
  11. I only just posted that... You also realize that he had a .906 regular season with 2.45 GAA? That's a much larger sample than the play-offs. Only a hater/bandwagoner would say exactly what you said and not fully read posts. If you think that Schneider starting was not a mismanagement then you are high. Lu should never have lost his starter position, split the season? Sure. Also THE KINGs won 9 more games than THE CANUCKS.
  12. I say again I said 10/11 Season was average for Quick and his play-offs were bad Where as Lu's 10/11 Season and playoffs were good and average respectively So therefore by your standards of not counting 12-13, as I agree to,. Luongo has had an elite season and a good play off run followed by an average season and average stats in the play-offs Quick has had an average season with a bad play off run followed by a good season and a good play-off run. So to answer your question. Yes, they are both elite, If we were to go by your standards. As we are using the 2 same years for both goalies and they both have had an elite season and an average season And if we were to use 2012-2013, by your standards neither goalie would be considered elite anymore. More so Quick because he was the starter the whole season.
  13. 2009-10 3.5GAA .884 SV% 2010-11 3.16GAA .913SV% 2011-12 That was his year 2012-13 1.86 GAA .936SV% Regular Season.... 2.45 .906 Learn your stats... For you to call Quick elite and say Luongo needs to be shipped out is just well.. .stupid
  14. Quick(sorry Quick but you're #2 and are a perfect example) Is Quick still elite? OF COURSE HE IS!!! - One of the top goalies during the regular season while with the Kings for 1 year. - One of the bottom goalies during the playoffs from '09 through '10 - 2010 Olympic Gold winner, and 2014 invite. - Highly paid with immovable contract. I'd say he ranks somewhere between the low end of elite and the high end of overrated as of now.
  15. You realize that playing vs a complete All-Star line up is harder than facing the Bruins right?? Team USA would murder the Bruins. So on an uneven playing field.. Yes any goalie could win, but an ALL-STAR team vs an ALL-STAR team. You need the best goal tending. You use SOOOOOOOO MANY double standards it's getting ridiculous. If any goalie could win behind the Canadian team... Why did Brodeur get pulled?
  16. Ya Holtby is there with a couple of other guys to see where they are at. That kid has a bright future.
  17. To say Crawford Price Smith Luongo Holtby is a weak line up of goaltenders shows that Plum you A. Have too high standards for goaltenders or B. You have no clue what you are talking about and are now to stubborn to admit you are wrong.
  18. Ah :/ never works for me, I have to type it out in full . But, ya any goalie can freeze on shoot-outs, As a goalie I know it's a test of letting your opponent commit 1st, and Luongo just over did it. He came in so close that only shot was really five-hole and Lu didn't close it. It was a misjudgement as was Quicks. 1 play does not dictate a goalies status, nor does 1 game.
  19. I don't even need to say anything Edit: Why are my videos not popping up like yours...
  20. I said 10/11 Season was average for Quick and his play-offs were bad Where as Lu's 10/11 Season and playoffs were good and average respectively So therefore by your standards of not counting 12-13, as I agree to,. Luongo has had an elite season and a good play off run followed by an average season and average stats in the play-offs Quick has had an average season with a bad play off run followed by a good season and a good play-off run. 21. Okay, While it's tough to argue, I do have a rebuttal. J.Quick is considered elite in the play-offs and regular season even though 50% of his play off runs his GAA has been above 3. His save percentage has been sub-par. He has had 1 good run in the play-offs and one decent run and is still considered elite in both play-offs and regular season. You cannot see that and say Quick is elite and Lu is not. To say Canada has a weak pool of goaltenders is once again just looking for reasons to dislike Lu and take away his accomplishments. So Quick is invited? Americas goalie pool must be weak as his last stats were not very good. No they are both amazing goalies and people who understand hockey and how to look at talent know this. The team in front of him has been good? Vancouver when he arrived was average at best. It had a line 1 and 2, 2 d-men and 1 goalie. With-out Luongo there was no cup run. Period. Anyone who argues that is just plain blind. No Luongo = Canucks swept in the finals and they lose to Chicago. Luongo put up amazing stats in Florida who was arguably the worst team the NHL. He had a average -> high GAA there with a very high SV%. Meaning he was taking a lot of shots and making a lot of saves. So no once again, stop trying to take away his accomplishments by giving credit to others when it is not due,.
