Gaudette slipped my mind.
But I want to split Miller and Petey.
Petey and Toffoli seems to be a match.
Do a balanced line up with Petey and Miller on different lines.
Surround your talent with talent. They just need Boeser or Virt in LE's role.

I think Gillis would surprise a lot of people with his know how on how to build a championship team. His lesson is probably learned... But can he draft? Because he was terrible here in that regard.
If the Canucks had prospects worth calling up in that 2010 run they would have won. But instead we had Rome and Oreskavich....

Yup. This is actually what I’m hoping JB has planned. There will be at least two teams, who make the playoffs this spring, that will want to improve their goaltending. The would love to make that improvement, and get a guy who comes on a cheap contract too.

J.T Miller is playing like a leader

No, we should be happy we are in such good shape at the deadline

Cap room says otherwise. Plus, his age doesn’t fit. JB just said he decided to help the group until the end of the year. Rental.
There would never have been a conditional if he didn't intend to sign him... The trade is a huge W if we win 1 or 2 rounds and resign him

People keep saying that but there's no guarantee that those guys will in fact be exposed, what their health will be, what their contracts look like, who else their respective teams might be exposing, what other side deals their teams might make to protect them etc, etc.
Hence, there's zero certainty that any of them will actually be 'better' targets for SEA than whichever goalie we expose (assuming both are still here). People really need to stop declaring that as fact.
Huh? I forgot VGK is exempt, but the Canucks are more likely to lose one of Pearson, Leivo, Myers, Stretcher, Roussel, Ferland in my opinion.
I think there's more people saying its a fact that we will lose a goalie

Whether we re-sign Marky or not, I think there's very little risk we expose Demko
With Holtby Samsonov and Murray Jarri and Fleury Subban exposed I doubt they take a goalie from us anyways.

Thank you for saying what I always think.

Right.
0:07 seconds per game this season
0:00 last season
0:02 the season before
0:01 in 2016/17
0:05 in 15/16
0:02 in 14/15
Never been a penalty killer in his career - in case reality/facts matter.
I've had people argue to me on this forum that stats don't matter and only form opinions.
So... Thats like your opinion man

I guess it depends on how core is defined. To me core guys are the ones who get the biggest dollars when their contracts come up, are the most difficult to replace, and contribute most to winning. I see only 3- 5 guys as core to a team. For us I see Petey, Hughes, Bo, and Bess. Gaud would have to become more important than Petey or Bo. I don’t see that. So, when Gaud earns a contract that is more than what we can afford, he will be traded for picks.
Malhotra was a core guy. Someone you have labeled to a position, they fill a role. They are important to your success.

A player is either a core piece, or they’re not. Yes, some support pieces are better and more important to others, but they are still interchangeable parts. Love Gaud, but when he gets too expensive he’s gone. And I would expect, when the time comes, he will be traded for picks/ prospects. This is the cap era.
At what point does Gaudette, a guy whos an RFA for possibly a whole other contract, not be a core part of the team. Why isn't he going to be a core piece? A young centre who's earned a full time roll at such a young age isn't something you trade. You trade for it.

That’s what JB has said about our window for winning to stay open for a long period. Support players (which Gaudette is) will be replaced by guys coming up on their ELC’s, when they age out or become too expensive.
We have Petey, Hughes, Bo, and Bess as our core pieces. The rest will be replaced as this team goes through the next decade.
In what world is Gaudette a support piece? He's a young player who has yet to reach his ceiling... He's a future piece to this team...

I thought you were being sarcastic, then I re-read your message again. I'm not sure.
Brock this season has made head scratching plays that have unusually become regular, namely high risk passes that end up going to the back of the Canucks own net. He's been largely outplayed this season by a number of players, namely Jake - and none of this is whipping boy material. This is reality. He's shown to be one-dimensional. His lack of hustle is pretty evident. Maybe he needs to work on his skating.
That being said, I wish he would return to form. The Canucks need Boeser. I still watch old Boeser clips because of those good old days when the Canucks were trash, except him.
Agree to disagree. He was on an absolute tear with 18 points in 18 games or something close to. His production slipped hugely when he moved down the line up

I think I disagree the most with the bolded.
Boeser has been struggling, we all know why and understand.
JV didn't outplay Boeser.
Boeser was bumped down due to his struggles/ dads health.
Boeser has absolutely been outplayed by JV. JV is a much better skater, and it shows. While JV has been contributing to the scoresheet, while being defensively sound, Boeser has been making risky passes (ala Goldobin) and being unable to take away sticks that end up scoring the net. I think Boeser needs to work on his skating again.
You just compared Boeser to Goldobin. Gtfo... Boeser has been nothing short of great for the Canucks. You have no idea what you're talking about
This forums stupid tendency to always find a whipping boy, usually the wrong one, annoys me to no end.
I watched as people on this forum took part in running Luongo out of town, and it was atrocious. Brock is a star, and you have no idea of what it takes to play hockey
Im mad bro

Games played and being injured counts towards the Calder. They vote by what is, not what could have been.

At what point do people start saying the Canucks are a real playoff team?
I guess when they win a series?
