  1. anyone else here dealt with debit fraud? I am nervous that I may not get my money back

      yup had some fake pay checks with my business name and some minor credit card stuff. Best thing to do is alert the bank asap, like now, if you haven't yet. Depending on what happened insist that you get new card numbers, account #'s, etc. whatever's appropriate, but the longer you wait to tell the bank what happened the harder it will be to recover it.

      In the US we have some strong consumer protections in place for debit and credit cards...

       

      Banks are actually pretty good and quick at refunding fraudulent charges.  They're terrible with just about everything else, but they don't want to ruin their credit/debit Golden Goose.
