Joni Jurmo isn't a defensive defenseman though. He's like Myers, but probably without the boneheaded penalties. Actually, we'd probably be ecstatic if he was that.

Sautner/Chatfield were given lots of chances here, but they didn't succeed. Chatfield was ok here, but he had his own defensive lapses. Woo playing forward was not a matter of choice, nor was it indicative of his worth of a defenseman.

Agreed, Woo is still a possibility.

How about this out of left field?  With Adam Foote working in Vancouver having his kid around who happens to be an RHD in Tampa, this could be the trade that happens.

    Roster player: Anthony Cirelli
Underperforming Prospect under 25: Cal Foote
    Pick: 1st or 2nd

100% the jimmy ruthernucks may something like this over a better deal to appease the masses get a young C/LW under long term contract to replace Horvat and that RHD everyone screams about in Cal Foote which gives his daddy control over his development.

It gets a deal done.  Checks all the boxes that Rutherford stated he was going to achieve and gets that issue out of the news.

Never thought of getting Cal as part of a bigger deal, but you may be onto something here.

Fred McGriiff goes into Hall Of Fame.

    Bonds, Schilling and Clemons don't

McGriff, nicknamed the “Crime Dog,”  spent his first five seasons in Toronto, hitting 125 home runs and 305 RBIs. He led the American League with 36 home runs in 1989, his fourth year with the Blue Jays

McGriff hit .284 with 493 homers and 1,550 RBIs over 19 seasons with six big league teams. The first baseman was a five-time All-Star and helped Atlanta win the 1995 World Series.

Ahhh, thanks for reminding me of that awesome Braves team in '95!

Was my first year of being in love with baseball. Tried out for the island selects that year. Got the tap on the shoulder after first practice though.. haha.

Bo Horvat is in elite Canuck history now; He aint done yet either.

Was just looking at an old 95-96 Canucks calendar. I remember being a huge nerd and logging every games stats into a word processor for the entire year. I was 11. The neighbour I watched games with had a pistol that fired blanks, thats how my Mom knew how many goals they scored.

My point is that QH can’t play this much.  I’m referring to his ice time only. Heck none of our players can. It’s natural for most players to make mistakes when tired.

Agree with the sentiment, but who plays the extra minutes?

    OEL? Stillman?

It's all well and good to point out the obvious.. but what deployments would you make if you were coach?

In a game like last night, I'm surprised he didn't play more. He's not on pk1 (few penalties anyway), we constantly needed goals. Yea your #1 D is going to see minutes.
