Didn't he commute across the border? I think he lived in Point Roberts.
Hated his coaching style.
Loved that he was a dog lover but thats about it.
I still think it’s so funny that CBJ gave us a 2nd rounder for the right to have that idiot coach them.

I keep hearing how he’s slow yet any film of him that I’ve seen shows him blowing past everyone.

Benson sounds like another Virtanen bust winger to me and we have a million of them
I can’t think of two players that are less similar haha! Not saying you’re wrong. Just funny.

Makes sense. They can wait for him. No rush for Philly

I shudder at the term "safe pick". Because that's how they described Taylor Ellington. And we saw how safe that pick was.
I hear you. I've been turned off by the exact same thing in the past. I'm not sure why I feel differently about those two guys. Ryan Kesler is the guy that keeps coming to mind. Danielson just seems to fit a "mold" that I like. Moore well... no secret what I (or anybody else) likes. Having one of the fastest guys in the league has historically not been a bad thing.

As instrumental as JTM will be to our playoff hopes, I agree you have to listen if 3OA is on the table
I have advocated for moving JTM but it's more of a philosophical position. I actually quite like the player and the person. I just think that if we are hoping to win soon then we need to really swing for the fences with some aggressive moves. If not then we need to rebuild (at least to a degree). Either way moving JTM seems to fit the bill and a 3OA pick (especially this year) would certainly help a rebuild without setting us back too far. (if at all)

Not a sniff of anything happening.
The package that Simashev represents. Big amazing 4 way mobility and a nasty streak. Even if he handles the puck like a hand grenade that is a useful piece.
If you are drafting a winger this high in this draft I just don’t think there is a guy other than Michkov that is worth taking the risk. Especially given the needs of the NHL team and the prospect pool.JR seems like he meant business when he said that he was going to talk less. PA is like the Wayne Gretzky of answering questions without saying anything. I'm never really surprised when Canucks news is quiet. They don't strike me as "sit on their hands" type on people. I'm sure things are happening behind the scenes.

If Columbus wanted to clear cap space for a bigger name C, I wonder if there’s a cap dump trade available for Roslovic (retained) and Peeke?
A big name C you say!? Like JT Mi... -never mind.
Sure would be cool to have that 3rd overall pick though

Comparables? ("OMG, we got him!")
Michkov
Benson
Dvorsky
Leonard
Reinbacher
Simashev
You're either going to be really happy or really mad lol! I think there's almost zero chance that at least one (probably more) of those guys is available at 11.

I've got a really bad feeling about tonight. I think we are gonna have a home run swing at 2 out of the 3 prospects I really like (Benson, Simashev and Moore in that order) and we will end up drafting somebody with tools but not a high ceiling or possibly high impact player. I doubt Smith and Leonard will be there.
I have a bad feeling we will end up with Danielson or Willander, and in my opinion Benson and Moore are better defensively than Danielson with much higher ceilings offensively and Simashev is just a way better prospect than Wallinder.
Moore is very very raw but you're guaranteed a third liner that can PK. If that kid figures out how to match his processing with his skating he is gonna be the biggest steal of the draft bar none.
Danielson isn't bad, but I don't view him in the top 11. Has the tools but has a tendency similar to Barlow to lack patience and just throw pucks at the net as opposed to waiting for a better play. They make a lot of low percentage plays but also have the ability to make the high percentage play which makes them a bit frustrating to watch. I actually like him as a prospect but I'm certain somebody better will be available for us.
Edit: also I always have bad and good feelings when it comes to drafts with us and I'm usually wrong most of the time (most of the time I feel good going into the draft and then get disappointed) so hopefully this negative feeling is actually good!
The more that I read, watch and listen, the more I feel like Danielson and Moore have the highest floor or are the "safest" picks. Seems like the worst case scenario for both is a very high end 3rd liner who can slot in to the top 6 when needed.
Seems like you have a different opinion on Danielson though. I'm curious to hear more. For me he ticks every box. Size, speed, skill, maturity etc.

It was terrible.
Dada and Kimbo had beef going back to street fight days. Should have been a bareknuckle fight, not an mma fight.
I have to believe that Musk and Zuck can top that masterpiece! In an era of youtubers and gimmick fights, this has the potential to be the worst of them all! I'm here for it all day. Wish the promoters would really lean in to it. Have their entrance songs played by a live kazoo player.

Dada went into cadiac arrest after that fight.
No lie.
Yes I remember that. The whole fight was comically bad even before the end. At one point when they were clinched they both went down to the ground but it wasn't a take down. They kinda just consensually agreed to kneel down together.
My wife came out of another room and asked if I was ok that night. She thought I might be losing it because she kept hearing me laugh super hard during the fights.

There's a difference between a team that is already won a cup and wants to stay competitive and one that can't even get to playoffs like ours.
Yes definitely. You don’t use assets the same way when you’re in different positions. But they are still assets none the less.

Those are changing pretty quick.
GSP stepping up to help Musk is an influence.
People are also starting to discover that Elon does in fact have some tricks up his sleeve. Pics (and praise) of him mma training, mention of him having some wrestling along with karate, TWD, and BJJ.
I still don't believe it though. It's a stunt. Already excuses. Dana talking about it being a size mismatch and hard to sanction ( liar). Elons mom and dad saying it shouldn't/won't happen. Zuck disputing Sonnens claim that the fight will take place at UFC300.
Anyway, hope it doesn't happen. It will suck.
The best result if it does happen is a double DQ in the first minute and the both cry their way out of the cage.
Remember Kimbo Slice vs Dada 5000 (or 3000? Lol I don’t remember)
The fight ended when Dada fell down after missing a punch and was too tired to get up. Could this fight be worse? I want to see it!
That whole card was hilarious. Main event ended when Shamrock got kicked in the junk and the ref didn’t see it. (1st round too lol)

Hey how about that! Colorado had a draft pick but it wasn’t a “magic bean”. They got someone that will help them this year. Amazing! My understanding was that picks were useless lottery tickets that don’t help you for at least 5 years. (And only if you’re lucky)

I'm torn. In my mind I want us to draft a D. The more I read/watch/listen however, the more I really want us to end up with Nate Danielson. Seems to check all of the boxes. Right shot center from the WHL with size, speed, skill and a commitment to both ends of the ice. I don't know if that involves trading down or not but I think he's the guy I want.

You can throw out whatever stats you like that show how effective OEL can be in a bottom pairing. (And maybe you’re right.) I just can’t shake the memories of some of the brain dead plays that he made last year. His injury doesn’t explain why he seemed to spontaneously forget how to play hockey at times.
