So how's this for a story line. Canada doesn't get gold. USA gets gold, Kesler Olympic MVP. After Olympic break Canucks play above average and squeak in 8th spot. Luongo with a fire under his ass Carrys the team on a magical run. Sedins take lesser rolls and relish. Kesler continues his Olympic beastly play in the playoffs and turns into the teams new top line star. The rest is up to you!

i was thinking that today. they pass and pass and pass and it just looks ugly.. and they cant score, the swedes cant finnish...

this trade reminds me a lot of the ehrhoff trade. we give up pretty much nothing to acquire him, an underrated, smaller, puck moving, offensive d man, not very physical... hopefully it works out!

i am excited for this... some like to rag on gillis and call him a "lame duck" gm. but in reality, he inherited a good team. He made the smart move by playing safe and only making supporting moves, look at how much success we have had. he has also made bold moves before which made this core better, such as sundin and demitra. Now this is Gillis' time to really put his stamp on the Vancouver Canucks. I understand not every move worked out perfectly, or at least instantly, and he has moved some fan favourites. but isnt that being bold? I believe in Mike Gillis, let the man who iced the most successful team in Canucks history... do it again. Go Canucks Go!!!

Remember at the beginning of the year there was a report saying both Bo and hunter were going to stay with the team; and then later on were sent down. That tells me how close they are. Especially Horvat, shink might have regressed a bit from a season ending injury. Not going anywhere. Lots of other pieces to move.
