He becomes UFA after 5 yrs. They will match. No team would let a player like Aho go for peanuts.

    20+ mill in 1st year.

Other teams will do him favour for waiting 7 days to match so their players don't get offer sheets. Likely throw him a bone at trade deadline give him a good deal in a trade.

Bergevin will be black listed. He's not going to have an  easy time making trades moving forward.

Yes Bergevin did brighten up UFA day lol. He has 12 picks in next draft I don’t think he cares he is swinging for fences lol, rightly or wrongly?

Yeah I think people are going to be changing their tune when they actually watch him play this fall.  This is not a good player to target at all.

    Maybe ?

He is upgrade on Hutton playing top four minutes has reach can skate an does hit . I prefer him over Hutton for sure upgrade.

Do you cry the morning of Christmas too?

Who crying reflection is not crying . A surprise retirement or not the cap is-now at crunch closing the max.It has created a trickle down effect. My main hi light was that next year there may not be quite same opportunities to pick up top6 players at today’s values. No one knows what next year will offer up but one thing has clarity . The cap on the books an the players that will be moved.. by the way I never cry hardly as lost both my parents at 12 years of age .

Out with Guddy and Hutton a combined -50, in with Myers and Benn/Nemeth. Size, gritt and point production.

I'm glad JB went the UFA route because all in all it looks like he will be saving a lot of cap money. Forwards get stupid money which is where the Miller trade works, and if he can somehow sign the 2nd biggest UFA D man for 6M hes a genius.

Yes I hope we land the pair awesome news 6X5 awesome I was full prepared for 7X7 cap stretcher lol

Without being a homer or a dreamer, I really believe that the swap would kickstart both careers. Lucic is still young enough to be an impact player.

Louie could use a fresh start where his first goal for the new team isn’t on his own net.

If Schenn isn’t coming back, and Roussell is out until Christmas, we will be the biggest pushover team that the NHL has seen in the last 50 years.

I hate Oilers an Bruins , but Even Boston has done a nice soft retool. We will now slightly resemble the oilers rebuild on a decade hunt to respectability. We will be soft as butter an smurfville on back end.

  6. Cap management, contracts ,trades & signings, UFA s  ( over payments) etc are the glaring weakness I observe from afar . These are not so bad as could be overcome with good executive group? ( Wiesbroad what does he do ? Beside hi light American born players?,

His scouting staff an drafting has been admirable.

His coaching hires have been so so till Green came in.

this may be his apex season where he finally may be able to get ahead of the curve? Maybe not . 96 points in west to get into  playoffs is a big jump.

i hope one more TDL , draft an UFA may be all it may take to roll out the next winner.

We need offence so I want to bring him in for that.  I’m sure it’s the system partially and that can be corrected.  Edler could actually be a good mentor for him on the same pairing.

May take a lot to get him but that can be offset with sending Tanev and Sutter out for some assets.

They would want another 2 line top six scorer an a second back probably ?

i would do it but Sutter they won’t lkely want

  8. I have always adored trader Jim’s tenacity to put together reclamation projects eventually you will capture a diamond in the rough as long as it would be league minimum no more 3X3 mind you those were not real reclamation projects.posters have observed an posted accordingly we have small bus load bottom six to move on to next level we will be needing more dynamic scoring in near future.( no pay off cut bait an waivers)

He was actually dominating at the AHL level.   Gaudette is an NHL player now.  Although he is still developing into the player he will become.  He can develop on the wing in the NHL while Sutter holds his future 3rd line centre role.  I’m pretty sure he’s not going back to Utica.

Yes totally agree One more year for Sutter perhaps he will be one of players on expansion draft unprotected list with adequate cap to qualify with min ceiling $$$ requirements him an sadly Erickson .Erickson has taken away teams lack of flexibility with his poor top 6 minutes . His defence is sound but we needed more offense from him
