  1. I dont think it would be bad for him to play in the SEL next year. He can always come to NA after for a 2-3 years in the AHL to pick up the NA game. The canucks should be in no rush or hurry to get him to the NHL and risk stunting his development.
  2. The Hitmen are owned by the flames organization and they were/are definitely not going to do the nucks any favors.
  3. He will probably be on the sidelines the rest of the year. Injuries aside he doesnt know the systems and thus does not have Willies trust whatsoever.
  4. He definitely has a ton to work on I dont think there is any doubt about that. That said he will probably get better with another year with ND and then 2 or 3 in Utica learning the systems under Green. As long as he is not rushed I think he will turn out just fine for the nucks.
  5. Will he be willing to do the 3-4 years in Utica for development though or will he consider going back home (KHL)?
  6. I could see Jake moving up once the Sedins are done. I think the sedins after next year will sign for another 2 for probably 4-5M per and Jake could use the next 3-4 years to develop his game in the AHL and take the pro's by storm.
  7. It is excellent that Willie is giving him some time in the games and he is probably already learning a ton. That said, he will probably benefit even more if they keep him developing in the AHL for 2-3 years or so and come back with a solid 200ft game.
  8. I dont think its a horrible thing to keep the prospects at home in an effort to probably generate more interest in the game from the younger generation and in turn increase the prospect pool out of Sweden. Dahlen will probably benefit from a couple more years over there followed by 2-3 in the AHL learning the NA 200ft game.
  9. I am thinking that it will take a bit of patience.. Virt is young and a good 5-6 years in the AHL learning the game is probably a good thing for him
  10. I could see him in the AHL next year and the year after for some work with Green on the defensive game but the future looks promising after a couple games.
  11. The ceiling is high for this kid and hopefully he can develop a solid game. He should get a chance to get some limited time with the Canucks in the rest of this season and then some real development for 2 years or so in the AHL to make him more of a solid 200 ft player.
  12. Will probably need another year in Jr followed by 2-3 in the AHL but he definitely has the potential to be a good piece for us in the future
  13. There is no chance they trade or expose (if they even could) Loui. The optics would be horrible to future UFAs and on top of this it can be argued (although no definitive proof) that JB was behind the deal in Boston to land Ericksson in exchange for Seguin and thus is JBs guy.
  14. Absolutely! There is validity in a lot of the complaints, specially when there is some backup to support the comments. That said there is also quite a bit of slag on the guy that is totally unfounded.
  15. Exactly!! Everyone has an opinion and that is what breeds discussion. Too bad there are a few on here that will either belittle or strawman you if your opinion differs from their own. With that said, I have been guilty of the same in the past and try to keep an open mind for the most part these days.
  16. I think a lot will see that Bo has a lot to prove before he is anywhere even close to the top 10 to come out of his draft class.
  17. Its not looking too good at the moment and I would not be surprised if Rodin is back in the SHL next year. It seems there may be a bit of a disconnect between coach and management in this case and I dont think it would shock many if Rodin has had enough by the end of this season.
  18. I am sure he could definitely help them out in the playoffs with his grit and determination. That said we would probably only get a 5th rounder or so for him at this point.
  19. I think what has been agreed is that there is a small WJC sample size and Finland is struggling so OJ is a bust and MT was the pick at #5 because he is in the NHL right away! Forget about last year as a 17 year old top D on a gold medal squad (who made the WJC all-star team to boot) as he was obviously carried by Laine and PJ. I mean if you cant make the NHL as a 18 year old dman then you are horrible! I guess it is even worse for both PLD and Jost as they are centers and it is even easier to make the NHL.
  20. Yup, I grew up and started watching hockey in the 80s, saw Linden's whole career.. Different era and the nucks had a lot of below average players (including the vets) back then as well.
  21. I guess we will see. While I hope I am wrong, following his tenure with the canucks (Comets) since he was drafted (wasnt too excited back then either) I just cant see it. Of course this is just my opinion. @Lancaster: I was actually a big supporter of Kesler (as a player, not the person off the ice)
  22. We also have to remember that the NYI were run by a bunch of clowns back then who almost destroyed that franchise.
  23. Different era as scoring in this day is far far more difficult and those numbers back then would have been considered maybe a little above average. We dont see multiple 50-70 goal scorers anymore and goaltenders get as many shutouts in year as some would have had in a career back then. Again, I am a fan of Linden's when he was a player and he was the heart and soul of the team no doubt about it.
  24. Completely disagree. Horvat is probably the best all around player on the Nucks this season and looks to be the only one who cares night in night out. He is probably one of the best players in the league in his roll at his age and I think would garner far far above average interest to most teams if he were ever on the block. Unfortunately the Canucks have little residual talent these days (although his line mates have been producing lately), just imagine if he was playing with highly skilled players found on pretty much any other team. While I am a Linden fan (as a player) I would consider him average while Horvat will be a far superior player.
