  1. Do you have stats showing how many prospects in this year's draft are "full grown" and how many are not? Not a valid arguement. When will you be done?
  2. even amoung guys who don't make the nhl there a varying levels of talent. there are ahlers, echler and further down the guys who can't make a living from playing hockey at all. We don't know how successful coaches were at getting desired match ups against Drouin, maybe the coach figured screw it, Drouin is that good, we don't need to worry who is out there against him. Bottom line, Ehler's number are positively impacted by playing on the same team as one of the best players not playing in the NHL. the 17 games and 25 pt without Droiun is too small of a sample size.
  3. Vast majority of nhl players don't grow enough after being drafted to make a tangiable difference, I'm happy for you guys , but this is irrelevent when considering if we should draft Ehlers.
  4. You would accomplish more if you stopped responding and posting. Even if people are doing what you said, why are you taking it so personally, it was a nice day outside go take a walk.
  5. WTF!! You said you were done?!
  6. Drouin occupies an opposing team's best d pair and center, Allows Ehlers to play against the opposition's lesser players.
  7. For this guy to be a worthwhile pick at 6 you have to be convinced he will be an elite scorer in the NHL, as in less than 25 goals a year is disappointing. If he's gonna be a ~20 goal top 6 guy, I'd rather take one of the big north american wingers. Most little guys that are impact players in NHL have junior numbers that are off the charts, like briere, ronning. In his favor I will say he has better numbers than Giroux at the same age for what it's worth. He's approx the same size too, but the fact he plays with Drouin and is European count against him, Also I don't think he has Giroux's mean streak.
  8.     I don't think you can go into a draft afraid to make a mistake, it's not an exact science, mistakes will be made. Boston, a very good drafting team, took Hamill and passed on Couture. Sh!t Happens.
  9. wow this thread is turning nasty
  10. They did play on the same line, also together on the power play, 17 games is a pretty small sample size to go off of.
  11. MacKinnon and Drouin were injured at various points of 2012-13, they played quit a bit without the other. Also MacKinnon was a pure center and was dominant at both ends of the ice. Ehlers is being draft purely as an offensive talent, many of his 49 goals were assisted by Drouin.
  12. Drouin has 41 pts in 16 playoff games!!! First: how good is this guy gonna be My main point: Ehlers plays with a ridiculously talented player, his numbers are inflated because of this, he is listed at 163 lbs. I would stay away.
  13. Thing is unless they lock Benning in a padded room and take away all communication, how can Boston stop Benning from participating at the draft? If it's a forgone conclusion that he is van's gm, it would take minimal effort for Benning to relay to the Canucks who to pick even if he wasn't at their draft table. Text smiley face for virtanen, angry face for ehlers. now doing the Kesler trade, that might get a bit complicated.
  14. With respect to Ritchie, he is one of the older players ranked in the top 10-15 picks, he is 8 months older than Virtanen(one of the youngest) and has played one more season of junior. However he is the best player on his team and doesn't have the supporting cast that a lot of the other prospects do. Saying Ehlers can be like Kane is a stretch, Kane at the same age was on a different planet, 58 games 145 pts, that's in the OHL not the Q.
  15. Last year everyone was complementing SJ's ability to rebuild on the fly, not so much this year. So what happens in SJ now? Boyle is gone, Thornton, Marleau; do you trade one or both?
  16. I think Anaheim has most to offer, Vatanen, Palmieri, Smith-Pelly, Rakell, Etem, Silvrberg, #10 pick. The hang up at the deadline was Ana didn't want to trade anyone off the current roster, but in off season, especially if they lose in round 2, Palmieri and/or Silvrberg should be available. Plus Kes would be perfect for that team, slot in at 2nd line center. My issue with Pit is, if it take around 4 years for Van to get good again, Sutter will be too old. So unless they feel Pouliot can be a number 1 d and run the powerplay, I wouldn't make the trade. Also if Pouliot is that good, I don't see Pit giving him up, Letang is not great defensively and they're paying him a boat load, still young, Maybe they ship him out (not nessisarily to Van) and hang on to Pouliot.
  17.    Kes already said no to phillie at the deadline, apparently it was B.Schenn and the first according to Bob McKenzie
  18. Any chance that after seeing how CBJ competed and the amazing fan support Kes okay with going there? Not likely but FFT.
  19. I enjoyed the above exchange. I've been on this forum for a couple weeks, I cannot believe the crap some people post on here without any logic or explanation.
  20. So after this team had it's most successful regular season ever and came within one game of winning it all you would have traded away arguably the team's best player?
  21. You would have traded him after the Boston series?
  22. As aggressively as teams were pursuing Kesler, you gotta think a trade is going to happen, likely at the draft. Plus it's likely best, the last few teams winning the cup have had cores made up mostly of players in their twenties. Kes has already said no to CBJ, NYR and Phi, here are the likely teams and what they have to offer: Ana, most likely I think, vatanen, etem, smith-pelly, palmieri, silverberg, 10th pick LA, Toffoli(not likely), Pearson, King, Muzzin Chi, Teravainen, Shaw, Clendening, McNeil, Morin StL, Schwartz, Tarasenko, Rattie, Shattenkirk Pit, Pouliot, Sutter, Bennett, Det, Jurco, Mantha, Tatar, Dekeyser TB, don't think they'd be interest.
  23. The whole conversation the girlfriend is just trying to get him to say contrversial things, entrap him, get a rise out of a senile old man. He's from a different time, he's allowed to think how ever he wants privately, this was not a public interview/announcement. He thought he was having a private conversation with someone he trusts. The girlfriend clearly knows his feelings, why is she with this bigot in the first place? Cause he takes her to Europe and pays for her lavish lifestyle. This is such an ugly story, just pisses me off about the state off humanity. Exploitation all around. The geriatric owner is exploiting the much younger girlfriend's desire for material things. The girl is exploiting the old man by recording private conversations, TMZ is exploiting both of them. This is some times a very crappy world. I think the bigger slimeballs are TMZ and the girlfriend, I'm sure she got a hefty sum.
  24. For our drafting to improve Ron Delorme will have to invent a time machine.
