  1. Top only applies if everything goes 100% perfect with trades and signings and when does that ever happen. I don't want magic beans I want elite players which miller is. For the below, ya I do think they will improve and I'd rather have them improve with miller on the team. Also we can only hope they improve to the point where they are even close to as good as miller. People here underrate miller, all those players have a long ways to go before they can even sniff millers jockstrap at this current point. And I'm a huge supporter of them. Again I'm not for hope im for results and miller brings them. If I'm gm I don't trade the players that are winning us games in favour of players who might.
  2. Nice rebuttal. Yes a top 10 scoring forward that can play in every situation is worth that much.
  3. How can you say we are a playoff team without miller when we are not in the playoffs with miller on our team in the top 10 in scoring? Exactly who on our team will produce like him and replace him? Now or the future?
  4. Bro we can't trade boeser and miller for chytil and kapanan what? Look at the difference in these players statistics and everything. Both of those players for miller alone is laughable. Would instantly make the team infinitily worse in every area now and in the future
  5. Why? That would be a great deal he is easily worth that. 10 game point streak and had another 9 game point streak earlier this year. Top 10 in points in the league, great on faceoffs and defense, leadership, the whole package. Has gotten better with age and has been so consistent the past 3 years. There is no way he is worth unless. (Unless that's why you are laughing) We can't afford to lose him and fortune favours the bold, we take the risk and trust he won't decline during our contending years much. I'd sign him to that deal in a heart beat.
  6. Bennings biggest mistake was not firing green earlier. Lots of speed and skill on this team. I always appreciated his vision tbh, contracts maybe not so much but he was better at building a team then I think people realize. Hopefully Rutherford doesnt destroy the slow accumulation of skill that Benning built. Shouldn't trade miller or garland, if the trade boeser it better be for someone good and not just for Marino and Rodriguez. I'd prefer kapanan and Marino + a pick if anything. (2nd round perhaps)
  7. That was last year? Lol. The guy was talking about how with no roster changes this year we have improved to 6 and 0 since the coaching change wasn't he?
  8. Fair enough ya. If we trade anyone of significance though we need to not botch it. That would be terrible
  9. Hmm ya I wouldn't even consider moving him at the deadline this season if the team continues what they have. Especially if Miller keeps this up. I don't think selling is a good plan, I think adding to what we have should be the move.
  10. Ya no you've been pretty reasonable I'd say. I get the train of thought. Certainly you are right I know what's pettersson has done so far is remarkable, and I'd be shocked if he didn't improve. But I don't want to give up other players that are currently better in the hope he improves even if I think he will. Luckily we have time to assess and track his improvements over the rest of the season and next
  11. I would keep both. Also Miller's has more ppg seasons then pettersson, who not to nit pick has none. Very close and flirting with it consistently, but look at petterssons stats the past 3 seasons and look at Miller's. Plus everything else Miller does well. Regardless I'd keep both.
  12. At this point miller's is more likely to produce at this rate then someone like pettersson. Idk, but I don't think we are at a stage where we can bet on potential anymore. Until pettersson actually surpasses Miller, we should be keeping Miller.
  13. FYI I know this is blasphemy, it's just a point. I don't want to trade pettersson and am not saying we should so don't hang me lol
  14. 6 wins in a row shows that there is plenty left to prove. You're overthinking it. If anything, we should trade pettersson. Would fetch similar return to Miller and at this point would be missed far less. Instant cap savings too.
  15. Totally! That being said though, loui I wouldn't say got better with age he had his best seasons in Dallas, and also wasn't injury free. (Concussion issues) Also wasn't half the player Miller has been for us the last 3 years his previous 3 years before signing his contract, so definitely still some key differences.
  16. So we should therefore get rid of our best forward in order to.. improve?
  17. Miller is an outlier too. Has gotten better with age like them, and misses no time to injuries.
  18. Haha LOL ya no kidding. And one of the first posts in this thread the guy was STILL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DRAFT PICKS WE GAVE UP FOR HIM!!! He is literally one of the best players in the league and he was upset about giving up what was a late first! I mean my God!
  19. Honestly probably same. Also people seem to think that because Miller is in his 30s that's why he should be the odd man out. I used to agree with that but not anymore. People also need to see that he is also very durable, how many injuries does he have? He played pretty much all the games every year. (Only missed a few games because of covid last year right?) Literally zero injuries since he's arrived. Also is one of those players that has gotten better as he has aged, not worse. He seems to be one of those rare, durable players that gets better with time. (Giordano, Marchand, etc.) That is another huge reason why I am comfortable giving him a big contract. Makes way more sense then most players his age and deserves it as much as any of them.
  20. Yup and 13th overall in league scoring this year. He is not the one who should be moved and he is the one who is worth the money!
