  1. whether he's ready or not; he'll be on the team.
  2. Lundqvist plays right on the goal line and makes reactionary saves as opposed to anticipating, that is what makes him such a good goalie, he has to play like that because he isn't very big. I do agree somewhat with you but look at how Rollie had developed guys in the past Luongo, Schneider, Lack, Price (to a certain extent),Theodore, Huet, and Halak to name a few.
  3. 42 is discovery that's why!
  4. Looked very good so far almost getting his first assist and goal.
  5. He has shown quite a lot of excitement and gratitude to the Canucks you can't help but like him and his interviews are soo endearing. He really does seem genuinely excited to be here. I'm looking forward to watching him play tomorrow.
  6. Every time I have watched him he doesn't seem to get much ice time. It appears like Calgarys' coaching staff is under utilizing him this year.
  7. I've read a few scouting reports saying he has #2/3 defenceman potential. I've heard him being compared to Pietrangelo.
  8. I got to watch him on tv a few times (not in HD) he really can skate. His skating ability reminds me of bieksa with his agility. His offensive game is really fun to watch but it seems like most of his goals are more in front of the net as opposed to from the blueline, he has a great first pass as well. They list him as 6'3" 200lbs and that's probably accurate he looks very lean kinda like Grenier was thats probably one thing he should do is bulk up a bit (but not much) maybe 10-15 lbs. A knock against him is he isn't flawless ddefensively but he has times where he shutsdown very well just inconsistent, most of his problems defensively stem from him jumping up into the play and having his defence partners not back him up. Hutton(and Shore)was pretty much their best offensive producer, its too bad the black bears suck.
  9. Stewart is now listed at 215lbs Tryamkin is listed at 260lbs on khl site Virtanen has been listed a 6'1" 212lbs
  10. 2G 2A 4Pts in the last 5 Games. He's on a tear right now.
  11. Oh my. Calgary you don't have to beat PA to a bloody pulp.lol. Seriously though Calgary really is dominating, Virtanen hasn't gotten on the board much but has had good puck possession and drive as well as creating a few chances.
  12. Yeah. Like big buff. He is a surprisingly good skater for his size.
  13. Did he put on over 30lbs he is listed at 120Kg which is 264lbs. Thats big buff size.
  14. Demko only let in 1 goal that he could have maybe saved (the short side one) but the other 2 he had no chance on. The US didn't help out their goalie much. Demko was the biggest reason it was soo close.
  15. Calm down development is not just about putting up big offensive numbers. I would like Virtanen to work on rounding out his game defensively and being more offensively creative while also building back his strength and conditioning. I don't think he'll have a crazy offensive season. As deniro said, temper your expectation. I know the team is better this year but Virtanen was actually playing with two overagers last year so I don't think he'll automatically produce 45 goals and like 70-80 points he's going to have a slow start and less game in the season to get back because of the games missed to injury.
  16. I would guess that Corrado gets sent down because we already have 7 other defensemen so keeping Horvat and having 2 healthy scratch forwards makes sense.

  18. Whatever is best for his development is fine with me, I am just hoping his development is best served in the NHL. He looked good, there were some unfortunate bounces that weren't all his fault he's still young expect some mistakes that's apart of growing and developing as a player and person. I am not saying give him a roster spot, just a chance to prove himself in the regular season; don't evaluate him solely on the preseason it's too small of a sample size with no consistency due to lineup changes. Give Horvat a fair shake don't relegate him to junior for no reason if he goes back and dominates that's not a good thing you want him to be challenged.
  19. I wonder what they are going to do with him. They should be making a decision tomorrow (IMO) on whether he stays or goes back to junior. Moreover Horvat ,should he be injured for a week could go to Utica on a conditioning stint which could buy more time to settle the roster and make more room for him. I personally hope he makes the team so I get to watch him. I only got to watch him in maybe 6 games in the regular season and the games in the memorial cup playoffs. I just want to see a high end rookie in the lineup.
