  1. My thoughts exactly, we have been missing a Fin for so many years. PLUS Tanev needs a little support in the flow factory. Looks like a win to me.
  2. We don't want him to crap the bed. Because then he may think he should go back to school for one more year to accomplish his goals of championships, etc
  3. My guess is to add center depth & if he goes to the AHL, then it allows Green to have Gaunce on the wing with the 3G line. (Gaunce-Granlund-Grenier)
  4. So lost, there is no way we couldn't have gotten something more for him... =S
  5. Next weekend are BC's last 2 regular season games. Then they begin The Hockey East playoffs on March 4th. Coming to a conclusion on March 19th. Then March 25th/26th is NCAA Regionals (ie- NCAA March Madness). Followed by Frozen Four in April. So IF Boston College goes all the way(hopefully against North Dakota), then we can sign Demko after April 9th.
  6. Just came across this, thought it was an interesting read. Nice to look back & see how accurate this was, great pick !! http://www.todaysslapshot.com/nhl-prospects/brock-boeser-isnt-hiding-in-the-ushl/
  7. To dismiss any confusion, yes Miller is the last goalie to win the Hobey Baker. That was in 2001. Greg Gardiner hold the single season Shutout record for the NCAA, posted 12 in 2000. Ryan Miller holds the most CAREER shutouts with 26 in 3 seasons with the Michigan State University. I believe that's where the confusion is held. Where as Schneider claimed Unfortunately with only 1 shutout in his first NCAA season, and 2 in his second. He currently sits at 12 throughout his Career. Without going back to BC for a 4th year, it would be impossible for him to exceed Millers record. However Schneider holds the career shutout record for BC, which is 15. So if Demko can get himself another 3 shutouts he will tie that.
  8. if he dives anything like Emelin, I will be choked. That guy is always trying to get a call, such an embarrassment.
  9. I would rather Boeser to be on that Horvat line. When your looking at a line of Shinkaruk - McCann - ???, where is the size? would benefit from having Virtanen in that spot.
  10. There are 8 games left before NCHC Quarterfinals & the Frozen Faceoff, also the Reginals & Frozen Four. Not out of the question for him to pot another 6-7 goals to tie/break the record. I'm not an expert on the NCAA. So I couldn't tell you if stats from those tournaments count towards his yearly totals. From other prospects 2014-15 stats, it looks like it may be a pooled stat line. Which would give Brock plenty of games to get 7 goals.
  11. You all realize the Hobey Baker fan voting makes up a very miniscule portion of the ending outcome. Last year I believe Eichel finished 3rd-5th in voting. Yet still won the award. Just some food for thought.
  12. my point exactly, pointless to talk about what we could have gotten for Schneider. Because what's done is done.
  13. however if Schneider went to EDM, then maybe they don't get McDavid.... hindsight is yet again 20/20
  14. I know posting in this thread will be blasphemy, although he is not a "prospect". He is still only 20. However I have just noticed something that is pretty interesting that leaves me optimistic. I know it doesn't prove anything going forward. But it is nice to see. When looking at Bo Horvat in comparison to Ryan Johansen I'm seeing very similar numbers throughout their years to date. Starting in their draft years... Draft year;; Ryan Johansen: 25-44-69 (.97 PPG) Bo Horvat: 33-28-61 (.91 PPG) Draft +1;; Ryan Johansen: 40-52-92 (1.46 PPG) Bo Horvat: 30-44-74 (1.37 PPG) Draft +2/NHL #1;; Ryan Johansen: 9-12-21 (.31 PPG) Bo Horvat: 13-12-25 (.36 PPG) Draft + 3/NHL #2;; (Johansen also spent 40 games in the AHL prior to posting these stats after the lockout. Bo didn't have that luxury.) Ryan Johansen: 5-7-12 (.30 PPG) Bo Horvat: 5-8-13 (.31 PPG) In conclusion this essentially means nothing to anyone, however based on the player Johansen has become with his straight forward skill. As well as his physical maturity & ability to bull his way around the ice brings similarities to Bo. Except I see more explosiveness in Horvat's game. If he continues to progress on a similar projection. I see Bo becoming the better player based on his leadership & perceived work ethic.
  15. This is what I have been saying for the past year!! Perfect comparison. Sure we would love him to turn into an Iginla who just hit his 600 career goal mark. However the realistic expectation should be a Shane Doan type player. Who is a great & loyal contributor for the organization. Consistent in effort & production. The prototypical Power-forward who eases his way into the league. (See above, 17/12/11 points in first 3 seasons) This does not show him as a bust. It shows how he worked his way up the line-up to be a physical imposing force who learns the league & gains scoring touch. If he can be a second liner 20-30 goal scorer after age 25 until he is 40, then we should be so lucky.
  16. the Patrick Kane + 8 inches.
  17. Far younger than himself? He is less than a month away from being eligible for the 2015 draft instead of 2014. He also played on the 2015 WJC team, where he in 7 games he had (1G-4A-5P). Not bad considering the only players younger than him were Laweson Crouse (who was used in a 4th line checking role) & Connor McDavid (obviously in another league skill wise).
  18. Qstank thank you for updating that, please do it to this one as well if possible? Jakes second goal: https://twitter.com/yaz4666/status/679730590854152192/video/1
  19. I was able to find this GIF of the first goal, have not seen the second yet. https://vine.co/v/iA7uvExaVtw
  20. oh to be at work, that's a shame.
  21. how do we watch this game right now? and does anyone have a video of the steal/goal.
  22. Not my point, lol. Just saying how if we took Nielsen not Brisebois, CDC would think we had the next Bobby Orr. As he improved from 24 points last year, to 21 so far in 17 games....
  23. Although hard to gauge with Lethbridge being top 3 in the eastern conference, & the Titan's being bottom 2 of the Q. However this player below was taken by the leafs the pick directly before we took Brisebois. Both having similar draft season stats. However Nielsen doesn't appear to have the leadership qualities that Brisebois does. Funny to think how if Toronto had taken Guillaume & we chose Andrew. CDC would think we drafted a #1 dman of the future. #6Andrew NielsenDefencemanShoots:LeftHeight:6'3Weight:207Birthdate:1996-11-13Hometown:Red Deer , AB 2015-16 Regular SeasonLethbridge Hurricanes177132011402014-15 Regular SeasonLethbridge Hurricanes5971724-9101
  24. I respect that you have an opinion, as these are just our counter-opinions. I'm interested on your thoughts about my CHL statement, as well as Toews leaving after 1 year of NCAA scholarship.
  25. So your saying ANY player from the CHL has character issues, because any CHL team drafts a player hoping for 4 years of eligibility. However if said player (in our case Horvat/McCann/Virtanen) forwent their 4th year, & joined the NHL. Damn those guys, the nerve of some people. How disrespectful that their talents are above a developmental league, they should have gone to Benning & requested to be sent down to fulfill their obligations.
