Iunno about the whole invisible talk. I was at the game and i thought he looked great. His speed is just fine.....He's so much of a cerebral player it makes him look slower then he is. He's alot bigger and faster then i thought. Watching him live was awesome.

Kids progression is just amazing. I remember telling myself over and over what are doing kid? Almost looked lost in his own zone and i agreed with all the low iq crowd. With saying that seems every game hes better and better. Now i keep telling myself on the daily "holy christ this kids good at picking off passes always in the right spot to pounce" i know its a stretch like a huge stretch, but i could see jake being one of the leaders in takeaways in a few years from now

My lord this thread has turned into a boeser bash fest/boeser vs koneckny thread. Boeser is snake bitten and is having a bad tourny.......who cares! To me it seems more like the guy iz just having a bad week rather then bad prospect. Im glad jb took a guy with boom or bust potential over another 2way gritt player like koneckny. The kid is putting up great numbers in a league thats much much harder to score in. Anyone who says the chl is a better league is out to lunch. Ncaa has way better coaching and a much more structured game defensively. Ppg as a freshman is a much better indicator then a handful of wjc games

Regarding the nhl or send back to calgary debate, id like to see jv stay with thr big club and work on these few things that would help him immensely imo. 1 playing in the nhl with pros and seeing how you're suppose to play without the puck ie positioning. 2 change the curve on his stick from more of a toe curve to a heal curve(somewhere closer to a kane style) heal curves are harder to get the zing on the shots going upstairs which by sering all his shots going over the net full speed could prolly be good for him. Curves like that are made for stickhandking and passing. People may roll their eyes but it is a big difference. 3 in season and off season non practice ice time should be focused on stick handling and other hand work. Work with a skill coach one on one. With all the physical tools he has some time with skill coach could pay big dividends for this kid

Its easy both ways really. With so many players people can say why didn't we takr him. Like someone will always have an argument unless years down the road he is the best out of the entire draft thats taken behind him which is pretty unlikelu just odds of it and all.

I would say the whole sedin sisters thing got traction nore because they were brothers and played on the same line always. Being on the same team media,coaches,etc etc would refer to them as the sedin brothers. Sedin sisters is just a crap unintelligent joke that stuck. They have always veen acknowledged or criticised together being called sedin brothers where is ig we had only drafted henrik he would have been more individualized and the whole sedin brothers would have never bren used enough for such a nickname to be thought of.

i only said demitra because he was a quiet type player that made good slick passes (the baer was hard to compare). the shinks to parise was just because how he takes the puck to the net out of the corners (i did say poor mans parise) the gallagher comparison seems off to me. gallagher is more of a pest and goes to the net hard aand stays there where i see shinks more of a corner to the net type guy

booth was putting up 30 goals hard north south player that hit everything and drove the net.....id say its a hell of a lot closer then the perry comparison and okposo. evander is the best of the bunch. i just think people forget what booth was like those couple good years he had

He got suspended november 26th for 10 games and got cut 4 days before the tournament started. His suspension would be upheld to december 29th which was midway through thr tourny. Usa didn't cut him earlier in hopes the chl wpuld lift the ban which they did not is why he was the last cut

Cassels made the team originally but was replaced because of his ohl suspension that would have forced him to miss the entire round robin and 1 playoff game

The guy is human lets not forget. He didn't get left with a whole lot in the cupboard from the last regime and had to take a chance on some guys ie the veys baers of the worlds. He took a risk on these guys. If there was no risk these players would not have been made available. The oilers and canucks are apples and oranges when it comes to developing prospects. Our prospects came in with low expectations and complimentary players. Oilers prospects came in as their top players pn the team. I do agree obviously that the oiler way is the bad way.

it went off his foot while crosschecking the defender in the back. only reason he was crosschecking him in the back was because he was late going to the net for the screen. you could almost argue that being so late getting to the net the smarter play would have been to be off the crease couple feet looking for the rebound
