  1. Every time I become negative about this team's toughness and lack of scoring, they pull a game out of their hat--like the one last night. If Brock and Pettey continue to bloom and hit or exceed the value of their cap hit this year, the team will surprise in the play-offs under BB. The last run was all goaltending and collapsing. This run would be about matching intensity and responsible offence. I would put money on the Nucks getting past Vegas and Miller would be like the Kesler who smashed Nashville.

I guess I should be negative more often. GCG

  2. If we keep out-chancing teams, the Wins will come back. It appears as though the gods are simply compensating for that W streak. I like the fight in the dog. The Nucks are showing heart and with some reinforcements, this should be a great match. The Oils on the other hand are still fragile, despite the recent win and I hope we send them back to naval gazing or whatever they have been preoccupied with.

Timrafan is ok once you muddle through his SwEnglish; his points are often confusing to us Unilinguals.

Because of GD Quebec, I took 6 years of Francais in school and still can't understand a word of it.

    (Except Burr's, Da Turd.)

Please point to Trudeau and not Quebec for that mandatory french language instruction requirement. I was able to study music instead--a transition loop hole I guess. Then I regretted it when I started meeting Quebecers. Perhaps your professor or language aptitude also share some of the accountability for the 6-year wasted investment. I'd rather the money go to health care.

8-0-1 and then 0-3-0 still equates to 8-3-1, if we play at even 7-3-0 for the rest of the season then we make the playoffs. Just have to make sure this blep is because of the long layoff/rough schedule and not the status quo, it's too early to tell which is which. I think the upcoming home trip will really shed light onto how good we really are because we play some quality opponents at home.

3 steps forward, only 2 steps back this time as opposed to with Green where it was 1 step forward 3 steps back.

i like your ability to see the bigger picture. I'm still angry over the lazy performance. I thought the first two losses would have upped their intensity, but the reverse happened. Not a good show of character.

  5. That was barfffff. Can't remember when the Nucks plays a decent early start.  Perhaps 2010. I hate losing this way. The earlier two losses I can handle, but this was a slow and lazy effort. It's like they decided they need to play PK style all game instead of pressuring. And the D were about half as nasty as Carolina. Carolina deserved this win and it appears their crowd had a great game and time all-round as we lick our wounds. Time to give Hunt some work in the minors. Time to trade for some physicality. Bo was a beauty, Myers decent, and ... Bo was a beauty.

    Yup.

We just took on the top 2 teams in the NHL and it showed we don't belong at the top with them. We would only be there if Demko plays lights out and our top stars play better. It did show me that we aren't far off though. We had our chances.

This is a road trip from hell.

    Hopefully they finish strong.

I think we would have won both games without the lay-off rust. We simply missed the finishing touch offensively and one additional save. I still think we are a play-off team this year and are still over 70% (something like 7-2-1) in the last 10 games.

I also noticed a major difference in pk. When Tampa commits to pressuring the puck carrier they really commit. Vancouver is still used to passive box so its like a 70% commit. They show like they are going to pressure, even skate over to the puck but they then hang back and start skating away trying to anticipate the pass and gives the passer room to make they play.

That really needs to change. Our guy is already there where the puck is. Engage even harder. Don't back off

I agree but discount the PK passivity to the lay-off and the respect for these two teams. I don't think this is chronic as the PK has been lights out under BB. Look forward to this team getting its Mojo back and am impressed with the performance despite the two losses.
