Canucks losing, suddenly all the boo birds and bridge dwellers are back on CDC with their ‘opinions’.

    They are our ‘positivity vampires’.

    GCG?

I can stomach a loss to Calgary but what the fans are seeing from the Nucks on home ice is unacceptable, even Bo and Miller agree. Problem is, JB built a soft team and Horvat is making it even softer despite his size, despite being the captain.

  2. We are seeing the result of Ten years of retooling without a proper rebuild that includes being in the basement for a while and stock piling. The owners never wanted a full rebuild because of the bottom line. Now it's coming back to haunt them and will be even more detrimental to the bottom line. I fear we are turning into Toronto. The Devils have a much brighter future than what I envision for the Nucks over the next 5 years. This will be a long painful road back to contention. Hope JR lives until he's 100. No more short cuts please.

I am cheering on my team, for a better draft position. We were one pick away from Trevor Zegras. #NeverForget

Nucks management has never been strategic with draft position. Have cared more about useless road wins when out of the play-offs to pad the W stats. Kept riding Hank and Dank to move up in draft position, lol. Perhaps the new crew will be better.

One nice thing is the Leafs defense and goaltending is so bad, they really don't have an honest shot.

I hate that the flames actually have a chance, and its all b/c of the ex-canucks they picked up for free.

Yes, the Lames should go further than the Laffs, unless one of their goalies actually steps up and starts playing elite. I still hold out hope that the Nucks will meet the Lames in the play-offs, although Thursday's performance took most of the wind from my sails.

Here's hoping Horvat and Brock start using their weight to throw some hits. Enough of this soft hockey. GCG.

Canucks out hit the Wings 43-35

Other than those no mean nothin stats, we played like garbage.  1-0 loss to the Wings?  With all our firepower? Yuck!

Plenty of blame to go round other then Demko.  Our passes were way bad tonight.  Not hitting their mark on too many occasions.

We could have played a more physical game because the officials made it clear early they weren't going to be calling tight.

The part of our game that suffered the most on this night was our passing game. We were sloppy and stayed that way till the bitter end.

Pettersson sure played a ton. Seems fine, health wise.

I think you are confused. The Wings out hit the nucks 25 to 18. So much for a hard to play against home identity. They did get many shots though from outside the slot.

Why should they cheer for that steaming pile of **** effort?

A few hits and showing the crowd you care would help. The team was out hit by Detroit by a wide margin. Need a new identity. This being soft at home to play against is pathetic. Nucks' home record sucks. Players too busy worrying about their lifestyle such as hair appointments or some other crap, not focussing on the game or making play-offs. OK, time to time-out for a bit, I'm rattled by the performance. I can only imagine what BB is thinking.

What impressed me most about this win is the way is that they didn't try and sit on a one goal lead in the third.  Great to see them go for the kill,

keep pushing the offence, even late in the game.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with padding the ole stats!

I found it also very encouraging, they didn't get too down when they were being out played again by Jersey early in the game.

This time, they were able to stay focused and positive thus getting themselves right back in early.  Something they've been guilty of not doing

at times, in particular, early in their season.  More good news from last nights game was the number of players who made positive contributions.

For the most part; everyone did their job !!

A great win and yet, I still think Brock needs to up his game. If you're not getting scoring chances, at least throw the odd hit...

Slow start killed them, the refs made sure it was a kill shot, pretty shoddy refereeing

The Nucks still don't have any answer to big hitting teams. That's their sad identity. That first period was played perfectly by Tampa. Hit hard and play hard and you will rattle the soft Nucks. With no identity at home and no bad ass bruisers, the Nucks let the other team control the rough play, hence the first period. Because teams can't keep such a pace for the full 60, the Nucks try to come back with finesse goals. Almost worked tonight but it's a losing play-off strategy. If we make any moves, let's get tougher.

That is way more than fairness.  That is ignoring the fact that we lost Tanev and Toffoli for nothing to our biggest division rivals and replaced Their cap hit  with wasted goalie money on Holtby and Halak and ineffective players in Dickinson and Poolman.

We would be much better and Calgary would be worse with just reversing that and not letting Tanev and Toffoli walk for nothing.

So no. Green being inept was why he got fired (which is more on Green) but Tanev and Toffoli was his biggest mistake.

out of town score board looking great. let's stop dwelling on the past and focus on the present. this will be a huge win for the nucks.  GCG

Yeah but that's always your stance, I've never seen you do anything but support the refs.  Kind of LIKE Hanson, trying to hard to be neutral and PC but, by way of that, becoming biased and blind to what's really happening. If you have a wtf moment AND think a call shouldn't have been but was, that's your first clue. "Not all that bad" isn't really what they should be aiming for in the pros.

You were ok with how they reviewed the high stick?

    What about the Oshie tackle?

I saw one pretty good case for Gi.

    Multiple cross checks were ignored.

And...if it shouldn't have been a hit to the head....well, that's what they called it.  And, if that's the NHL standard how come Garland doesn't get that same protection? It was called a head hit....so if a guy who's simply tall and can't avoid hitting as such, why isn't a smaller guy also afforded that same standard? That anyone hitting him high should be held accountable (they're not).

I've watched Hanson closely as he is a local and someone known to the family. I can tell you....he's awful.

Yup, often teams need to find a way despite the reffs. This was one of those games where puck luck and officiating were against the Nucks, but they still found a way to earn a point. A little more truculence and this team will surprise in the post season. Game management sucks but it's here to stay and some markets benefit more than others. That's Bettman's way.

Alf the new meds aren't working time to switch to a new prescription. The bounce off the boards for the First goal was unstoppable as everyone was expecting the puck to come out the other side.Take that one away and the save percentage is fine.

Demko is not above criticism as you say but this game was not one to blame on him. Again he is a top 5 goalie in the league and this team goes nowhere without him. Bolded above i agree with. He has given us every chance to get back into the playoff race.No one is asking Grant Fuhr for his Stanley Cup rings back with a career .887 save percentage.

Your fixation on shot percentage is very misguided and getting old. Save percentage and shooting percentage are on a sliding scale they change every game. Anyone can make the argument that we let in too many goals. If you don't score more than three goals a game in this league you lose most games. Whats the shooting percentage for teams to win each night? Sometimes you outscore your goalies off night. Some nights he steals a win . It happens

The loss was and should be blamed on the slow start and allowing the Caps free space to get to the pucks. Myers got a crappy penalty most likely if the refs had another look would not be called.Regardless we got a point in a game we probably would not have gotten at the beginning of the year and we gained on Vegas.

This season is looking more and more like it will come down to our games against the Knights. unless they go on a big slide or the Kings start to drop games we have to win the head to head battles with Vegas.

Don't waste your time with reason. Alf is baiting CDC, must be an attention thing.

This was like a playoff game. We need more push back. Please put in a tougher player than Hunt. We can't afford 3rd line passengers that have to be babysat. We need a NHL body there to help clean up the board battles. Hunt just watches them. When is Borroughs back?

And more push back from the forwards too. I'd like to see a little less finesse and more North/South crease crashing grit. Washington's big boys rattled the Nucks from puck drop until the mid way through the 3rd and we had little answer. If Brock doesn't want to use his big body to check, I say let's upgrade on the size and speed chart--if we can. Anyway, it was a fun yet frustrating game to watch. Meaningful games in March is awesome. GCG

  13. Boys need to be able to respond to the rough aggressive play at puck drop. Great third period but they were rattled for the first half of the game. Need more like Schene. Perhaps a big fast guy to replace Brock. Or at least give Brock a chance, "start hitting or see ya later". The point was huge, keep it going and frak the reffs, they were biased in favor of Washington and OV was a whinny biotch.
