Binnington has been tested and looks sharp Ill give him that. 4th line with Motte and Virtanen is a handful.

The power play is in a bit of a funk. 0/11 since Miller fired that laser in game 3 on a semi breakaway, which was not off any kind of set up. At that point we were at an unsustainable clip of 6/10. PP needs to get back to scary, top 10 in the league levels. If that happens, we will win this series. The Blues will take more shots and maybe win the time of possession stat, but we put more goals on the scoreboard. 3rd most in the playoffs so far. Shot differential in the playoffs has us 3rd worst. Probably something we have to live with in general.
They don't have Quinn Hughes or any facsimile thereof.
If you picked the 5 fastest skaters on the ice in this series would 4 out of 5 be Canucks? Schwartz, Virt, Hughes, Petterson, Motte? Go to the next tier of 5. Who on their team is faster than Bo, Gaudette, Roussel? Schenn, Kyrou? Speed.
Marky playing like this is, at worst, a wash with Binnington/Allen. One more night like last night, edge to the Canucks.
Edler sat out 3rd and might have a little more jump Friday because of it rather than playing his usual big minutes. Fantenberg and Benn solidified their spots although I would like to see a more offensive minded D in there. Too risky now to go with Chatfield, Juolevi or Rafferty. If someone gets dinged up in game 6 they get their chance.
We are the home team Friday. Maybe you go with a more offensive minded set up as people can be a little protected. Gaudette brings more offensive skill than Macewen so probably you stick with him.
Petey, Miller, Virt
Pearson Bo Boeser
Roussel Sutter Gaudette
Motte Beagle Erickson/Macewen
I guess Ferland or Toffoli are out for now. Myers looked pretty hurt in the celebration video. They will be without Tarasenko, Steen, and of course Bouwmeester is not playing. So injuries seem like a wash.

lot of pucks being bobbled by our boys. Aliteration

Fantenberg needs more minutes. Never thought Id say that.

This period is a tire fire for us so far.

Petey was open a few times and just couldn't quite get it under control. He needs to make a play. Miller turned it over a couple times uncharacteristically as well. Fantenberg had to make some plays, he was solid. Marky sharp.

I agree Rousel not giving us quite enough. Beagle line, Sutter line doing their job well. Very cautious play by both teams.

Unlike many I don’t think Jake has played poorly
in his very limited minutes he has played he dished out hits and used speed to move the puck
I agree. He was effective against Minn and he has dropped the mitts in this series and doesn’t get pushed around which is something we need. Not quite as visible as you want and not backing the Blues up when he gets it on his stick and takes off like he can. But not a liability. Bo, Miller, Zac, Beagle, Roussel will all throw hands although Bo can’t be off the ice for that long and Miller and Beagle look like they have injured hands so Virtanen fighting and checking is needed. If he could just add to what he is doing now he’d be getting more
minutes.

I hear this from all the guys who played for Travis in Utica. But I think Miller and Beagle have helped as they are Green type players.

Marky likes a lot of work generally. Green will go with him I’d expect. He was shaky back to back against Minn. Chatfield is a dynamic skater and willing physically. But he is less reliable on the breakout and isn’t a heavy body. He could be a poor mans Tanev out there. Edler going to be in the 30 minute range.

Speed kills.
Macewen always getting back on D but still present on forecheck will get him time as it has done for Motte. Forecheck backcheck paycheck.

Gotta sit Roussel and give somebody else a chance.

Gaudette making big contributions on puck retrieval and defense/forecheck. Kid just makes plays. And he scores
timely goals.

Canucks are just a better team. Didn’t play that well and still took it. Hughes was off. Petey off.
Toffoli gonna turn out.

Can somebody explain to me why Jake has half as much ice time as Eriksson tonight?

Jake is getting to be indispensable. One of the few guys going in and pushing people around and he nails the PP goal.

If only Loui could regain that scoring touch. He is playing really well. Last two games he has been terrific except for missing a lay up here and there. And what can you say about Motte. He makes that 4th line go. Has to be one of the most underrated players in the league.

Best game he has played all year. His line dominated a pretty good team.

Hobart - I haven't been following Kole Lind's development at all. Is he a player that plays with edge? Would you say that he compares to a player like David Bolland who was driving us Canucks fans crazy with his agitating and aggressive style of hockey back in 2008 to 2011? Would you say he's got the makings of an Alex Burrows type player?
I would. He is an agitator and he has come a long way this year. And consistent too. He will press for a position next year. I think another year in the weight room won’t hurt him and will give him a little more credibility in front of the net.
