      That's the info he shared with me, Shaky :)  You would think that open heart surgery would have you in there the night before, wouldn't you? We used to have people come in the night before and give them a sleeping pill to ensure a good night's rest before major surgery. Nowadays it's 'the smallest amount of time spent in hospital the better'. Even to the detriment of patient's well being, sometimes.

      a friends dad had it 6 months ago and he was in the hospital for a week before they operated..tests and all sorts of stuff..that was at the RCH which is known as one of the top hospitals for open heart ...crazy...

      I'm not positive, but I would think that our friend had a lot of those tests done a couple of months ago when the recommendation for surgery was made (the stents were deemed a 'no-go') and then some last week in prep for the cancelled surgery date :)
