  1. Agree Hairy , it’s nice to see us get stronger physically on D with our latest moves, Yes, I was hoping NT would. One back to the Canucks and be able to contribute to that. His first season was exciting to see. I wish Tryamkin the best.
  2. That was when he still had ties to the KHL with his x team. Im sure this is a totally different situation now considering he has openly told Avtomobilist he is not interested in signing with them, and was pursing to get back into the NHL. (March). Lets not forget , they wanted to send him against his contract stipulation of “one way”, to Utica for 3 games to be played in 10 days as a “conditioning stint” . He was sitting because Desjardins comments about his “shape” , which wouldn’t have been aired by any pro NHL Coach who truly cared about his players. He was training hard in Vancouver at that time, and had already played games here before WD aired his issue, and had played well, and was better statistically than 4 other D men at that time. Trust , the Agent was probably just as perplexed to this . Abby is a FAR different situation. and right now with the way the cap is effecting every club, players are having to bend to get employment. I like this player, And I hope there is a chance to recover him on a “show me” contract. … but as I’ve also stated, the moves we have made are already an upgrade. I like what management has done. it’s hockey, Anything can happen.
  3. Given the state of the Cap, and all team’s adjustments to their needs and wants,. Anything is possible GTC.
  4. Russian players in general are whole other genre Rek. Oleg Tibordowsky had parents and family members beaten up trying to extort money from him. Recently in the playoffs , a russian player brought a woman to his room who also was Russian.. something happened for the PLAYER and STAFF to call the cops on her. Wasnt it Michkovs Father ?? who was beaten to death in Russia because they were trying to begin extorting funds from the potential of his sons career . It’s present in this day and age , going back to the Mogilny, and Statsny years. The present status of War and geo-politics in Russia is another factor. Putin is conscripting and arresting at will.
  5. I’d like to add to your comment that I think this roster movement, and the new contracts signed, are allowing prospects to see their potential to push hard on opportunities in this roster.. they themselves may create some great advantages for the org., as much as those decisions may be difficult to make.
  6. Easy to “wake” those who cant think pragmatically, let alone offer a good opinion.. They make off the cuff opinions, get told their not telling a truth to the story .. then claim “victim “ because they’re offended by their own stuipidity.
  7. It’s all cap dependent, especially at this time. He was worth the 2m x 2year Benning offered at the end of his first full season in 2017. Even 3 years ago when he waited for Benning to create roster room and capspace he was worth that , possibly up to 3.5. But the cap may have risen .05 % , and the roster here is still trying to be cleared of bad contracts. Its the Cap that has agents/ managers / and players making adjustments that seem to be in reverse from years ago.. and many good players in the World trying to get into this league. Its interesting all around, not just this player, but many, and all teams . Is it any wonder why expansion teams get the upper hand in creating a playoff club from their inception? Its a fantastic opportunity.
  8. I can agree with part of this , but the average KHL salary is roughly 500k usd .. paid in Rubles . Which limits his freedoms, the Ruble is not good. Frankly , I’d be surprised if a 900k usd salary for one year (show me ) isn’t taken. The KHL rosters are quickly filling up for August camps and a September Regular season. He has told his x team he will not sign with them , that came out earlier this year. it’s possible getting out of the country (RUZ) , is getting difficult given the War.
  9. I agree Hairy, Rathbone may be a tradeable asset now,. I can see why we were moving on past others,. It was appropriate. D Petterson apparently has looked very eye opening too.. Willander , is the exact opposite of what OJ was,. stronger in every asspect
  10. He is standing out at the prospect camp , a long with a few others , seems we genuinely have a good crop that should be pushing for the big club now, and in the not too distant future. He is filling out, and getting stronger all around. Great coordination.
  11. But it’s strange there isn’t any other news within the league, Diamond was supposed to be shopping him.. should have heard of other tire kicking.?
  12. 3.9 (4m) 1 year remaining . Latest from Alvine is that he will return.. perhaps to NJD ( 5 mil cap space) with his pal Tyler toffoli.
  13. Personally, I think there’s still moves to be made here.. irregardless of Tryamkin signing here or not. Any one or 2 of Myers, Rathbone, Boeser, Garland, possibly Strudnicka, Dries, Pearson if healthy. Thats been a really good group of prospects showing the past couple of days.
  14. They certainly are good at that .. have to appreciate them trying to control the level of hype journalism takes rumours to. especially with the bundle we have in Vancouver.
  15. It’s DEAD quiet. I find that even stranger. Perhaps Diamond waiting for Teams shuffling rosters to get other offers to compare to. I think his x- teams roster is close to finalizing, they start regular season in September. Tryamkin turned down an offer to return to Avtomobilist KHL before he left that team.
  16. Re-signing the Sedins may have been our future team taking the hit. We traded Linden to advance the Team, and we should have with the Sedins.. l wonder, hypothetical, what they could have returned to us in the 2nd last season before they were signing their last contract. I think it’s the lack of moving on from players that’s always been a difficult pill to swallow in this town that has hurt us. Im so glad we traded Horvat for this same reason. …. I see moving on from Demko within what’s left of his current contract , if Silovs excels quicker than expected, it will happen quicker. And even though I’m a huge JT fan, we should appropriately look at the right time to move him on as well for the Teams future.… I think it will happen in the 4th or 5th season of his current contract unless the team is a heavy playoff contender. Timing is everything when releasing good players and getting a good return.. that’s good attrition. Hanging on, because they’re “loved” in a community, is NOT good for a franchise. ps. Linden was not a good hockey ops manager,. Just like Gretzky was not a good coach
  17. Just as long as he gets fair opportunities. yes. his stats are less than impressive, and have to wonder how he became 6th overall when he drafted. even his stats then weren’t fantastic. Im sure a lot of scouts are blowing the dust off their yearbook notes and investigating their own notes. He might rise with the crop of prospects skating this week for us.
  18. I’m surprised if that is the case that Zadina isn’t part of that package as a supplement, rather than waste him to waivers.
  19. He played well in the playoffs. Most D men over 6’2 seem to have better durability and longevity. He is quick and agile, Foote and Gonchar are Going to be great mentors for him. Acqiring those 2 D Coaches will stop this soft slide the D position has been on for years here.
  20. A 21 year old , drafted by us, Rookie year from a country run by Nazis , coming to an unfamiliar country and environment/ culture in North America. I put more responsibility on communication to the player by management and staff. There wasn’t any. You stick your headlines, but there isn’t much intelligence in that.. and it shows. Adios.
  21. To add: I am a Tyler B fan , he’s about to go into 4-5years of prime power forward.
  22. But still , that’s a long time ago on the Ferris wheel..
