  1. Quinn already has 2 assists, 8 minutes into the first.
  2. Don't want to jinx it but I thought Goldy finished strong last game against Chicago. I love how green is handling him though, he had a miserable first period and start of the second, and Green sat him. Sat him for the first part of the third too, but then looked to give him more more chance close to midway through, and the message obviously got through. Played the hell out of Goldy for the lat bit of the third with Horvat and it almost paid off. With a previous coach his punishment would have been to stick him on the fourth line and expect him to succeed regardless. Green is showing tough love but its obvious its starting to get through.
  3. I also don't agree with this whole tailoring partners for players who have been in the league as long as he has. He was the one who in his first season told us that Hutton needed 300 games of experience before he would get the NHL didn't he? I think there are going to be 5 more defencemen playing more minutes on this team than EG next season, so I don't think finding him a partner will be a prioirty. Travis already seems to be getting it and is slashing his time on ice drastically.
  4. I'm not his biggest fan in the world but I think his last two games have been on the better side of okay actually. Sure nothing positive really transpires off his sticks, but we could say that about a lot of players on this roster, and there aren't glaring glaring mistakes to his game like there were before, and if there are its usually only been 1 a game. I mean he is only being played 13-15 minutes a game right now which is probably what he is capable of, and that's fine. better 13 minutes of okay hockey then playing him above his means at 18-20 minutes and having mistake after mistake.
  5. Hell of a game tonight, he's in the group with Edler (get well) and Tanev, and there's a case to be made for him over this years Tanev. Unfortunately the gap from him down on is massive.
  6. Watching the Avs game last night, Sam Girard looks a lot like Quinn, with just a tad less skill. Everything from the skating to the spins to the size to the turnovers. Fun player.
  7. Can you elaborate on this? What has he won, a world Junior gold in 2008 where he had 1 point?
  8. That’s the thing is that Gaudette has already shown that he can get by in the NHL, and is very good in the AHL Next year is the problem, because if he comes up and gets 8-9 minutes the whole year, that’s a massive step back in development. Either Sutter or Beagle has to be traded or the boring plan B is to move Gaudette to a winger which seems like a waste
  9. It's weird he's strong when he doesn't have the puck like when he decides to hit of box players out. But then when he has the puck in his own end it looks like Kyle Wellwood could outmuscle him and strip the puck off him if he wanted to.
  10. Can't quote your post for some reason @aGENT Yes you're correct, the problem that for the most part he hasn't been treated as a complimentary player and certainly isn't being paid like one. His ice time has gone down now that our defence is healthy, because our coach is competent. The problem is and always was, when he was playing north of 17 minutes a game. He makes too many mistakes and doesn't impact the game positively enough to take that much ice.If he got paid 2M a year and got 13-14 minutes a game I'd be perfectly fine with him. Management has put unnecessary pressure on him with their previous views.
  11. My favourite is the notion that we need to give Guddy certain players to get the best out of him. He's going to be 28, he is what he is, there's only one way for him to go, and it isn't up. He shouldn't be babied by having to play with Edler, if he isn't good enough on his own, he isn't good enough period. I HOPE they don't put him anywhere near Hughes when he gets here in March.
  12. But but but he's 6'5 207lbs and a former 3rd overall draft pick !!!!
  13. Sure but didn’t you also proclaim Jared McCann to have a better wrist shot than Joe Sakic? Over and over and over
  14. And you think With 12 EP’s as your forwards you wouldn’t win a cup? lol Team Lucic ftw
  15. He has played more than 120 games as a Canuck. Lets say this sequence where he "quieted" Lucic is going to be best his best type of game. I'm sure most people would be okay with that. How many times do you think you've seen him have that kind of impact on a game in his 120 + games as a Canuck. I bet you I could count the number on two hands
  16. I always thought of him as a reactionary tough guy, one that will do something only in certain circumstances and only if he has too. Kind of like Jake in that regard. Jake at least has shown glimpses of good puck skills to make up for when he takes games off physically. Guddy on the other hand, well...
  17. Got the assist last night but hasn’t stood out much aside from the Florida game and going after Matheson, maybe feeling a little comfortable
  18. I think he's probably best playing 13-14 minutes a game on the third line and getting good matchups against bottom pairing defencemen. Struggled a bit playing with Bo.
  19. not just a few, I counted at least 7 should have been sure goals that either just missed or were saved. Points didn't do him justice this tournament, aside from the game against the Russians, he absolutely dominated
  20. Weren't you the one who was endlessly defending Vrbata the one year he checked out because he didn't get to play on the twins line anymore?
  21. It’s cool i like dinosaurs too
