    Has anyone signed Shipachyov? Wasn't the big European UFA everyone was wild about?

      Well, no, they do. I just remember something of the sort being the deal here.

       

      Then again, I could be completely off base.

      Basically what happened is Shipachyov missed the deadline to file for contract termination. Ultimately he ended up at SKA's training camp. After December, he can buy out his own contract and become a free agent. Until then, his hands are tied.

      It also seems likely that SKA will match any offer given by an NHL team. They are very high on him.
